Re: Frogs ban Burka
Just dug this out of my inbox,
Subject: Tolerance Mosque at Ground Zero I came across the following this morning. I can't fault the logic of it! "I am perplexed that so many of my friends are against a mosque being built near Ground Zero. I think it should be the goal of every American to be tolerant. The mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance. That is why I also propose that two gay nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque thereby promoting tolerance within the mosque. We could call the clubs "The Turban Cowboy" and "You Mecca Me So Hot". Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork and have an open barbecue with spare ribs as its daily special. Across the street a very daring lingerie store called "Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret" with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods. Next door to the lingerie shop, there would be room for an Adult Toy Shop (Koranal Knowledge?), its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store, maybe call it "Morehammered"?" Might be tasteless and not very PC, but makes the valid point that tolerance is a two way process! |

Re: Frogs ban Burka
Cordoba House, the' Ground Zero Mosque', is a proposed Islamic cultural centre, which, in addition to a prayer room, will include a basketball court, restaurant, and swimming pool. Its aim is to improve inter-faith relations.
Incidentally the planned site is two blocks from where the Twin Towers used to be. Here's a list of innocent victims of the terorrist attacks on New York...who happen to have been Muslim. Muslim Victims of 9/11 - Muslim Victims of the 9/11 Terrorist Attack As for religious tolerance, you could easily substitute the word mosque for a Baptist church in Hicksville, or the Vatican City. A place where there are similarly no gay nightclubs, or lingerie shops. Which sadly means many of the stocking and sussie wearing priests have to travel elsewhere, if they want to dance with each other to a high-energy beat. ;) |

no way would the mosque have been allowed so near to the site of 9/11 if bush or any previous president was in charge and if obama spitting in the faces of the families of those that died that day dosnt show hes still in favour of islam over common decency then i dont know what is feel free to read up on the situation regarding the mosque and obamas involvement in pushing it through iv already done the work in a previous thread last year if its still there |
Re: Frogs ban Burka
Obama wrote in his two books, "Dreams From My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope," that he spent two years in a Muslim school and another two years in a Catholic school while living in Indonesia from age 6 to 10.

Re: Frogs ban Burka
If it is thought that a culture center is a good idea to increase understanding of different faiths then so be it but to place an islamic center so close to the site of 9/11 is just beyond belief and in bad taste. If i was unfortunate to have lost somone on that day in those towers i wouldnt want to hear islamic calls for prayer blasting out while i remembered my loved one and that is also one of the main reasons people who have lost family there protested against the building of the mosque/culture center as well as the obvious bad taste.

I believe Muhammad Ali bared quite a lot of flesh, and got quite sweaty when playing sport...at the same time as being a devout Muslim. This centre is two blocks away from Ground Zero. A good five minutes walk. People of many, and no faith were killed by terrorists that day, who were using a religion as a cover for acts of wickedness. To demonise a whole religion, because of a few evil zealots, and get all hysterical because an Islamic centre is planned to be built half a mile away from where a terrible act of terorrism was carried out, is stupid. I'm the first one in the queue, when it comes to fighting religious tolerance. Sadly this applies to many of our world's religions...not just one. |

They don't. Just as all Christians don't picket the funerals of solidiers killed in war zones, carrying placards stating God Hates Fags. Go to a secular country like Turkey, which has a Muslim majority population. You'll see many Muslim women and men bathing together on that country's beaches, some even wearing bikinis. ;) |

Terrorists use any excuse to do what they do. Though religion is a common choice. You only have to look at Ireland for an example. ;) |
