Leader of The Labour Party

As a member of a trade union affiliated to The Labour Party I received my ballot paper today, enabling me to participate in the election for the new party leader. As it happens I voted for the candidate endorsed by our constituency MP. Who do you think be the next leader?

Plonker! We've already got a thread and poll started on this.

I thought we should have, but I couldn't find it, perhaps Mick or Neil could remove this one .

Found your poll now, back in May. This is the official list of candidates, minus mandy and the moggy.

I think the cat polling 23%, and coming second, in the other thread, speaks volumes about the level of enthusiasm that the candidates inspire.

I'm suprised they allowed Russ Abbott to black up, and stand for the leadership contest.

Lets face it - if anyone other than Dave Milliband gets the post, then it's another 18 years in the wilderness for Labour.

I wouldn't necessarily go along with that. But David Miliband is more likely to win us an election.

I notice Gordon Brown isn't on your wish list, best leader the party ever had.;)

If you put them all in a sack, shook them about a bit, and then took the best part from each of them you still wouldn't have enough material to make a useful leader.
It is a good job I don't have to vote on this one....there really isn't anyone there who lights a flame.

In this poll I voted David Miliband because I reckon he will win the Leadership, but taking into account the next General Election is 5 years away, I'd would rather see Ed Miliband as leader.

Re: Leader of The Labour Party

The petty squabbles and sibling rivalry that those two have indulged in, has maybe reduced their standing in the eyes of many party members.

I said 'Ed Balls' last time we were asked, and I say it again now
......but none of them are worth the effort of putting pen to paper:rolleyes:
