I wouldn't worry about it until next year, Simon.

If (heaven forbid) that Cllr Britcliffe not only loses his County Council seat and his Leader of the Council position, I'm sure he has a fallback plan to see himself right. I somehow can't see a man on £40k per year rolling over lightly and letting everything slip away from him.

Perhaps he could mint himself a new medal at our expense as a little nest egg? Or a brass plaque for his own front door?

'This door was officially opened by Peter Britcliffe, Leader of the Council every day for the full 10 years of his glorious reign'

Except 2004, which seems to slip his memory when talking about being Leader of the Council.

Somebody who doesn't have any interests but politics doesn't have a life in my book

So why and how did the potentially libellous post get through then? Both the publisher (Accy Web) and the writer would have been subject to litigation if I had not asked for it to be removed.

Si, mate, you're getting a tad repetitive, it appears most of your posts are how can I put this nicely without being rude ........ whiny :o Sorry Bud but that's how it comes across, how about changing the record & getting involved elsewhere on the forum & you'll see how peoples attitudes to you can change, please.

As recently stated elsewhere, moderation on here is done retrospectively.

The mods don't sit here 24/7, checking every single post straight away, as I believe quite a few of them have lives to live away from this forum.

They trust members to act all grown up, and report posts that have broken forum rules.

I suspect it would make things much more interesting for readers of this forum and be a good opportunity to converse in a modern, pro-active way with the electorate.

Either you or one of your associates are reading Accrington Web postings on a regular basis so why not take part in the game rather than watch from the sidelines?

I for one would welcome the different viewpoint and the opportunity to debate regularly with the man who makes the policies for Hyndburn.

Shouldn't we be extending the same invitation to the new leader of the council, Miles Parkinson?

Come on Miles, it's good to talk.

;)

I agree. Same applies to you, Ken.

Maybe you'll answer my Kashmir question now, seeing as how you are Chair of O&S.

They do say what's good for the goose, is good for the gander.

It would be hypocritical not to demand answers to questions, just because the control of the council has happened to have changed.

Openess, and transparency make for a happy, democratic borough.
