If someone has their way, you'll be hoisted by your own petulance.

Oh very witty, have you got the Collins Quotations Dictionary to hand this evening?

From time to time in our great borough's story it falls to one man to lead his people out of the valley of the shadows and into the sunlight uplands of St Andrews and Immanuel. (Moss 3: 6-12)

I was going to post 'hoisted by your own man-kini'.

But I didn't want any surreptitious reader from the council to have a stroke.

Two stokes and he's out.

Apparently.

The huge amount of enthusiasm for Peter Britcliffe displayed by certain councillors could be dangerous if it was used in a positive way!

You must have been reading a different forum to this one, I don't recall there ever being a Councillor for Peter Britcliffe ever posting on here. (Or maybe I do recall but am in actual fact lying).

I'm sure the archivist knows.

Heaven forbid that any councillor might have a sense of humour as well as one of duty.

My post was aimed at the council as a whole, your name was not included in the text.
I am in any case warming to your apparent honesty and hope all turns out well for you.

I just believe that council should get on with the job in hand and stop bickering in public.

I mean the constant bickering doesn't do anyone any good.

If some councillors dislike the current leader, they need to go and tell people, positively, what they will do given the chance. All they need is a majority in opposition to Peter.

Rather pointless bickering to high hell every week about how unfair it all is, that the ones with the majority of councillors run the council.

But have they got a majority, without the mayor?
