The move to Thursday nights and the inclusion of Graham Jones MP was apparently universally panned by the Conservatives on the basis that it would be rather harsh on The Accrington Observer reporting 6 days later and that he isn't an elected member of the council. Stuart Pike seemingly in agreement on the newspaper front if Twitter is anything to go by.

I still maintain that a concise council meeting adopting a more respectful code of conduct is of more use not only to the borough but also the councillors who are present and may not necessarily be as aware of county and national issues as is assumed.

There is nothing to hide here. Graham Jones got well in excess of 14,000 votes on his own, more than the entire Tory group and a sizeable part of the Labour group as well.

If he isn't representative of the electorate's views then I don't know who is.

I think it was a deliberate mistake by the Observer twitterer at the instruction of PB so he could hold them to it. It should have said 0% increase but again we already knew that because the government said so :)
