I've already posted in this thread, more than once, and umpteen times elsewhere on this forum, that personally I'm a staunch republican. Like it, or lump it, yesterday was a major cultural event in this nation's history. I soaked up a satisfactory amount of information. In case it's ever needed at a later date. Knowledge is power. ;) (Knowledge you'll find defined in the dictionary...coming just after Knob.) |

Re: Royal Wedding - The poll.
Watched most of the actual wedding and it was OK ..as for the dress I thought it looked no better than anything you could buy from many high street shops.. pretty boring.. but then it's not my place to go against the young fashion experts ...:D

My opinion. It's rather hard to give anything else. The comment was a stab at humour. I don't think for an instant anyone would seriously stop wearing something, because I procaimed it to be no longer fashionable. Here's another nugget. Red (hair dye) and green (eyed jealousy); Never to be seen. So do one. ;) |

You are wrong. When something becomes widely copied, by it's very nature, it is no longer thought of as being at the height of fashion, by those that create, and influence, what's deemed to be at the cutting edge of style. Fascinators are now very popular, as seen by their mass availability. Fashion, the very concept of which, means things are in a constant state of change. They were in fashion. Now they're not. People can still wear them. They can wear what they like. Though they won't be seen as being fashionable. ;) |
Re: Royal Wedding - The poll.
Fascinators. Can you please tell me what one is.

It is nice to be 'fashionable' when you aren't really trying to be ;)- I wore a fedora 'bowler' at my sons wedding a few months ago.

Re: Royal Wedding - The poll.
sorry about that double post......got a message about a database error.
Walkinman....you could always secure your fascinator with sellotape...you wouldn't look anymore ridiculous that Princess Beatrice.....I don't think she could possibly have looked in a mirror before leaving home....and that 'nude' colour did absolutely nothing for her. Because I didn't see much of the wedding as it happened I didn't see many of the outfits........the only ones I have seen have been those in the newspapers today....and I can't say I was much impressed with any of them. Maybe I am hard to please. |
Re: Royal Wedding - The poll.
Tried to avoid it all day by going to Asda for plants and compost, spent the afternoon with my mum filling pots and planters. I deigned to watch the highlights, she is far too thin (as is her sister) and her dress made her boobs look like a Jean Paul Gaultier perfume bottle, she has a lovely face and managed to get his name right so there maybe some hope.....
