Dress - a success.
Abbey - trees a great idea. Interviews with crowds - shoot me now. |
Re: Royal Wedding - The poll.
No offence to anyone, but it did cross my mind, if a bomb had gone off in the Abbey, killing the extended Royal Family, and every crowned head in Europe, who'd next succeed the throne?
I can't be bothered to cross check today's guest list with the line of succession, but they'd be pretty far down the list. Line of succession to the British throne - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |
Re: Royal Wedding - The poll.
Anyone go to the civic celebrations in the Market Hall?

Re: Royal Wedding - The poll.
From what I have seen on the news, it wasn't bad, but I just saw the highlights. That was enough. I just don't think that a couple getting married, even a great looking couple who seem as if they just might make it through the marriage minefield, is entertaining enough to keep me glued to my tv. Having said that, I still believe that constitutional monarchy is the best form of government to have in this crazy world. I look around at the constitutional monarchies: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan etc., and then take a look at the alternatives. For me, it's a no-brainer.

Re: Royal Wedding - The poll.
we were in Accrington about 10.30 this morning, it was dead.
I think everyone was in the Capital...or at home glued to their TV sets. I haven't been able to avoid the celebrations entirely......went to see Ma...she was watching it. Then went to daughters and her tinlids were watching it...much had been made of the celebrations at school......they made decorated crowns, dressed up and had a party yesterday......plus Miss Bossy Drawers is very interested in weddings, princesses and that kind of thing. |

Re: Royal Wedding - The poll.
There were a number of incidents during the day of whispered conversations between the various principal characters. William mouthed something to Kate at the altar, which lip readers were able to translate as "You look beautiful!" Aaaaaaaaaah! Wasn't that sweet.
There was another, little reported moment between Kate and Her Majesty the Queen, which lipreaders have managed to translate as follows:- Kate: What's your advice for a long and happy married life? HM The Queen : Always wear a seat belt, and never p*ss me off! :( |
