Sorry shortstuff, just got to disagree ;) Hyndburnlife is a great advert for the Accy web! All their members (us) are talking about a better local site called Accringtonweb.com, let them spend the £1000's on advertising.....and we will pick up the new members once they realise that the site they are on is so amateur (and it really is!)

Do your bit for the Accy web ;)

Good point Short Stuff...if you ignore it long enough it will go away!

I don't need to ignore it. It's already ignoring me.

But remember it isn't only a message board it also contains amazing gems of information about our area (such as Oswald the Northumbrian)

I still can't register. It keeps kicking me out. I'd rather be on here anyway but I wanted to be around on the other site when AB gets going. Looks like I will miss the fun..:D

Just a thought.......If you join and then later are refused access, and have to join again, won't their statistics for membership double? Nice try..I would say!

Yep, it's really in danger of becoming a roaring success isn't it lettie what with not letting me back in and not letting you register. It'll be overrun with members! How come A-b and Tealeaf manage it?

Re: Hyndburn Life ?

Has anyone been over to www.pendlelife.co.uk yet? Looks like they want to take neal on as well. I only found out about this due to mistakes in hyndburnlife's code that revealed it was all copied over from pendlelife. I wish I was the company that got the contracts with the councils to 'design' and implement these state of the art websites.
Oh how I dream of an unlimited, publicly funded budget! :) I wonder if there are any grants that we as a community, northwest website could apply for?

Just had a look at Pendlelife and was amused by the forum for visitors "this is the place to ask all your questions about the area" Maybe it is, but there's no sign that anybody is going to be there to answer.

Just had a look myself, it does rather seem to be a bit of a "one size fits all" sort of thing. And to think that hyndburnlife and the HBC website are costing us £130,000 this year. How much does it cost to run Accyweb? I would bet that it is nowhere near £130,000. Value for money services - don't make me laugh. HBC wouldn't recognise value for money if it jumped up and offered to buy them an ice-cream!

No, I think he is just one of the Yobbish fraternity who seem to be genetically incapable of having a discussion without turning it into a confrontation.

I mean..."where is Knuzden?"...puh-leaze!
