So I guess it's okay for the young recruits in the military to put life and limb on the line to keep your sorry ass safe but not okay for you to serve them a drink ,

Excuse me how dare you!! At the end of the day the checking of ID's is the law so no, if they havent got correct ID. I'm not going to risk my job and a massive fine for anyone!! If they are over 18 and can prove it with the correct form of ID then of course i'll serve them.

And i'm not getting into a slanging match about the military, because before anyone starts my brother was in the army until recently, my ex is in the RAF and i have lots of friends who are currently fighting in Afghan in both the army and RAF!!!

It has DOB on it of course.

And its the MOD for god's sake you can't get much more official.

Quid a pint on Thursdays & it's packed.Do these people not work Fridays:rolleyes: I often wondered a few years back, when Accrington was the place to be on a Sunday night & the town was packed, how many actually had to get up early for work on Monday.

Wow so many questions, Yes there are toilets downstairs...... Thursday wil not be changed,

on the subject of ID i think most pubs do only take the 3 forms of ID..... and as stated in the Goverment 'Challenge 21' this is what we decided to use as a company policy. If you want to talk about the ID MOD card then i am willing to listen, so pop in for a chat ..

we would love to bring kids in to eat - oo that sounds wrong - i am not a cannibal lol
but really i think so long as they sit are well mannered and not running riot or screamming etc i dont see what the problem is - obviously it would be at your discretion and i would expect that it would only be for the duration of the meal - not still there three hours later lol please let us in with children it would make A LOVELY CHANGE.

The problem is that you can't let some children in and not others.....how do the management know who will make sure their kids don't run round and who will just sit there and let them do as they please?

Plenty of people would still be there with their children 3 hours later too. :(

I don't think you can start blurring the lines and making exceptions or the whole thing just becomes a farce......either children are allowed or they're not.

At the moment they are not and everybody knows where they stand with that.

thats fair enough Lilly - but I want to treat my step kids every now and then - we dont have a car and so can't drive to country pubs etc - there are a couple of places to eat out in acccrington - Mcdonalds and KFC - or i could order them a takeaway I suppose.
They feel grown up and get excited when I say we are going out for a meal - last time we went around most places in town and ended up at the flippin chippy - they are 10 and 11 and are lovely young ladies such a shame really.
