Re: Parkinson's Disease Society new local group

Article in LET not exactly embarassing, but no where near as good as the one 2 yrs ago. I'm sure he had hundreds of quotes to work with -since you never run out of things to say -perhaps he was over-whelmed?!

Preferred the article title you gave on FB - more comic and definitely more "you".

You are still damnably photogenic though;):D

Glad you had a good time at the party.

Not "vile", just excessively vehement/passionately convinced at times...always with postive intention.

Happily we got six new members, who'd seen the (embarrassing) article in the Lancashire Telegraph.

Thanks also to Graham Jones M.P., who came to see us, and wish us well. Everyone really appreciated it....and I got to apologise for being so vile.

:D

Glad it was a big success, one of yer members wives rang paris this afternoon, after receiving info off a certain guy.;):)

On behalf of the group, I'd like to say a big thank you to Bob Dobson, for the very kind book donation.

It will add to our stock of books member can borrow, and is most appreciated.

Thank you.

:)

The next meeting of the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Parkinson’s disease support group will be on Saturday 3rd March, 11.00am -1.00pm in the Supper Room, Accrington Town Hall.

There’ll be a bring and share lunch, and old and new members will be welcomed, and offered support, advice, and friendship.

Re: Parkinson's Disease Society new local group

As part of Parkinson's Awareness Week we're holding an information/collection day in Accrington on Friday 20th April, 10am - 3pm.

We'll be on Broadway, and in/near the Market Hall, providing information about the disease, and letting people know what we can offer in the way of support, if anyone has, or knows someone in the area with Parkinson's disease.

In the past Parkinson's UK have provided t-shirts, and other things to make us more visible, but we were told this time we'd have to buy them, and they weren't cheap. So we decided to see if we could have shirts printed with our own name on, Hyndburn & Ribble Valley Parkinson's support group.

Keen to support local businesses, I went to see Lancsdave at Giftprint, in Peel Street.

I'd like to say a massive thanks to Giftprint, because Dave has very kindly donated his services for free.

In hard economic times, when businesses are struggling to keep their heads above water, that really is very generous to donate and print the shirts.

I honestly wouldn't have gone there, if I'd have known he wasn't going to charge us. But I'm very glad I did.

Thank you so much, it really is very kind of you.

If you see us on the 20th, in our swanky new t-shirts, trying not to shake our collection tins, do please say hello.

:)

He was getting annoyed I wouldn't let him pay. So I said if he paid I would come round and put the money in his tin. Would love to see him try chasing after me :rofl38:

Nutter.

:D

Seriously, we would have been more than happy to pay.

Getting the things from you we'd still have saved a fortune. Compared to us having to buy the official Parkinson's UK t-shirts.

We'd have been more than happy making that saving, or if you'd have given us a small discount.

What you did went beyond the call of duty, especially in these tough economic times.

Your generosity is appreciated, and won't be forgotten.

Thank you.

It really is very kind of you, and it's most appreciated.
