The article in the Lancashire Telegraph was seen by someone at Granada Reports, who'd like to film an interview with me next week, as part of Parkinson's awareness week.

So hopefully I'll be able to gain more publicity for the group here in Hyndburn, and let people know there is support out there if they need it.

You will have to remind us about this and let us know what night the interview will be aired. Don't want to miss this one:)

Garinda, I had no idea, being new to the forum. (Well fairly new) I've been ill myself these last 2 months but if there's anything we can do, give us a shout. My father in law had Parkinsons. Good luck with what you are doing. Best wishes. xxxxxxxxxx

Presume you heard the discussion on Radio 2. Jeremy Vine today Garinda with Jane Asher (president of the Parkinson's Society) on brain donation ? Have just listened on catch up ... as knew was scheduled.

About brain donation ... only have about 1,000 at the moment. Need these donations to compare people who have suffered with it and those who haven't to discover what happens to the cells. Can speed up a cure tremendously.

'Course one or two members on here need not apply .. grey matter gone already ... :D:D ....

Only joking.

This is the article link the BBC have put up against the programme:-

BBC NEWS | Health | Parkinson's plea for brain donors

I heard Jane Asher talking about it on the Jeremy Vine show too.

This week is Parkinson's awareness week, and this being the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Parkinson's Disease Society, they are having a real push to see if they can increase the number of donated brains, which will help with research, not only for Parkinson's, but many other neurological diseases as well.

Incidentally, the P.D.S. has raised over £40 million pounds for research since it's founding.

(You can see I've been reading up on all the facts from the media pack the P.D.S. sent me.):D

I've just had a look.....I see it can only be done after death.....no popping along to the Globe centre once a month to have it done with complementary drink and biccie. :D

I have filled it in Garinda ... and just one remark from Cashy, Accyman, Neil, Jaysay, Mick and others (all men you notice) about the state of my grey matter.... will issue a red karma point .... :p

Think the problem is that lots of people think that your soul may be embedded in your brain .. I don't believe any of this of course. As a remark today on the radio .. 'The self is very hard to define, particularly when people suffer from dementia and alzheimers' .. where has the self gone then ?

Better to have some bright young scientist cutting you up into interesting sections than being frizzled or rotting under the earth.. brrrrr. :D
