Yesterday was a great day - Mez, Jaysay and Cashy. Fantastic seeing them all especially Jay as that was our first meeting - we even managed to stay off football. Littlepom and I were very grateful for the opportunity.

Can't recall saying at meet that I would be there:confused: Did say in an earlier thread that given plenty of notice I might just risk going to a match but given the way the Stanley played today with Barrrie in attendance you might want to cancel the mere thought of me being there;)

Start of the second half they did and started to play well - then silence - crap football, Cheltenhamgot the third and we departed for the Oak - at least got a good pint in there and as a bonus got to watch some good football.

Yesterday I met Neil briefly. I didn't invite him in for a brew because I had only just got up (12.30am:o) and was still in my dressing gown.

He had to negiotiate past our local drunk who was sitting in the road clutching two cans, so I don't suppose he wanted to linger in such an undesirable part of town.;)

Had a word with owld Bert on the market yesterday
also some of you older members that used to go to the meets will remember Pendy & David
well they where on the market too Pendy has not been well and has spent 5 months in hospital but finally they got married on the 5th December so congratulations
had a long chat with them too and introduced owld bert to them

I like that Mick....downtrodden indeed!......he didn't try very hard to get the wax out of the carpet(he let me do it)....and he is only just out of the dog house so he is treading very carefully.

I'm looking at expensive rugs...haven't quite found one that I like enough though yet. :D:D

After all this time, finally met Retlaw in the Local Sudies Library. Sure I heard violins playing in the background as our eyes met each other, and his opening dialogue "I kno' who thee is, tha's Medusa" ... :D

I can honestly say was not as traumatic as I had envisaged ... ok, don't know him that well yet... tee hee.

My mother met him this afternoon for the first time, at the same venue.

She thought he was quite a card.

She particularly liked the tale of applying for planning permission, to build a dividing wall with Yorkshire, told to the young student from...Yorkshire.
