I agree Dave, it's a part of Ribchester I have never seen. I may put it on my places to visit list.
Good quality photos as well.

Lovely photos! I particularly enjoyed the greenhouse interiors.

It really is a lovely place to visit -a feast for the camera -I took loads of photos. It has charm and is not all pristine like many places. You won't be disappointed if you go there and the food is excellent -only thing I would point out is that it can get hot in the glasshouse on a sunny day! Plenty of tables dotted around outdoors though...also several independent businesses selling household items, gifts, herbs and wines! Ribchester and two pretty churches out of the village nearby worth visiting too. :)

I really enjoyed the reflections in 4 and 8 - scenes fit for a watercolour painting! Well worth wet socks I'd say.

I think a lot of claytoners have never been down to the bottom of Lower Barnes Street, it is a sort of a cul de sac and only fishermen and walkers go down there, unless of course you live down there.

I have never seen Kinfishers, but I have seen trout which says the river is now clean, I have however seen them further upstream around the motorway bridge stretch of water.

Today in Pictures, the clouds made it for me today.

1. Parking on Goldacre Lane.
2. That way lies Whalley nab.
3. Looking toward Pendle Hill, the clouds are getting a bit dark.
4. Another Pendle Hill shot.
5. I think I am snapping clouds now.
6. About to enter the Reservoirs.
7. The water drop between Upper and Lower Dean Clough Reservoirs.
8. Back down the other side.
9. Bottom of the reservoirs.
10. Then back down the lane to the car.

Thanks, I think putting the horizon lower in the picture helps.

It was a nice day for a walk, and apart from one other person, I didn't see any one else. I like having the place to myself.

No its not Hogweed, Hogweed has a broader leaf, having said that I am not sure exactly what it is, but if I was pressed to give it a name I would say Cow Parsley. It is though difficult to identify as there are loads of plants with this type of flower, followed by seed head.

Today in Pictures, just over the border into Altham and then back quick before they saw me. I don't want to get caught by the Beagles.

1. Looking over the top of Clayton, then Rishton and in the distance Blackburn.
2.Strewth, it wasn't this steep last time I was here.
3. The rock they cut through for the motorway, and Pendle beyond.
4. Over the top of Altham, then Ossy, and finally taking in the tall turbines.
5. From the top of that steep bit, whilst I inflated my lungs again, the view off to Blackburn.
6. That way Burnley and Nelson.
7. Thats the first bridge I went over, the second is this one I am stood on.
8. For some reason this horse took a shine to me, perhaps because I smell of carrots.
9. I remember her from school, her face has changed but the hair is the same, though she didn't have a moustache then
10. Hands up if you think this one looks like Hitler.......yes me too.
