After my little jaunt on Sunday I thought I would have a walk around on my own.
I parked my car on the Gamecock par cark and WALKED down to the Cock Bridge and back again.
Then I drove down to my mate's house at Clayton Hall Drive where I got out of my car again and took some more photos, that time I never strayed more than ten yards from my car, afterwards I had to go into the house for tea and chocky biccies to get my strength up to drive home again.
See, I told you I could walk alone after all.

No.1 The name of the bridge.
No.2 Looking down into the river Calder.
No.3 Back to looking at water, from the other side.
No.4 I walked in to a field and this is the bridge again.
No.5 Lane down to Clayton Hall, taken through windscreen.
No.6 Mum and her two chicks on the Hall lawns, the only two left out of eight.
No.7 The Hall.
N0.8 Hall and gates.
No.9 It says "Gated Road" at the top of the lane but one clown came down while we were stood talking and had to reverse out again. It is possible to walk all the way to Martholme Grange on the path, according to DaveMac.
No.10 Heading back home, taken through windscreen.

What a handsome fellow in No.4! Great close ups of fungi and berries - they look good enough to eat. Seagull shot would have been perfect for Photo Competition 17. :)

Today in Pictures, around "the pines" as its known locally, its the wooded area just above Dean Clough Reservoir.

1.This is a good start, face down in the dirt.
2. We are only into Autumn by a few days and the trees are starting to lose colour.
3. Muck up the nostrils again.
4. I am so low taking this I am below ground level. (wood sorrel)
5. Downhill toward the wet bits.
6. As close as we get to the wet bits, its now back uphill.
7. Pendle in the distance.
8. Almost back up the hill.
9. Big trees.
10. Last shot, time to turn around and head back to the car.

I would love to accompany you again Jen but; I don't think I could manage to put up with two dogs trying to do three laps around my ankles, with their leads trying to cut of the blood supply to my feet.
Tedster was enough, he kept me jumping around like a Morris dancer all the way, all you did was laugh and tell me three laps was Teds record.

For forty years there was at least one dog in our home.
Apart from the eight guide dog puppies my late wife trained over the years she also was a volunteer foster Carer for the Hyndburn stray dogs in need.
She managed to nurse and get well a few dogs who went to good homes.
We also had dogs of our own, a few pugs and Alsatians and one or two mongrels over the years.
Apart from me and a little love bird the house is empty now.
