Anyway a few more from Bury Station for the lovers of proper cars from yesteryear. No.1 Austin 18 from about 1937 No.2 Standard ten No.3 Big Austin Healey, my dream car. No.4 Daimler Dart. Pretty rare nowadays. No.5 Red car, someone help me out, what is it? No.6 Morris 8 probably pre war. No.7 Morris 8 post war. No.8 DMU, headboard says "Dyce" it's a long way from home. It was the next train to Rawtenstall but had to go to Heywood first so being a bit weary I got on it and had a longer ride. All on a complimentary ticket June had from the Guide Dog days. No.9 Old advertising board and rail-side distance marker to somewhere. |

Today in Pictures, started as a walk to find signs of Autumn, turned into a walk on the wet side.
1. Within sight of the Dunkenhalgh Hotel. 2. Heading for the river. 3. Found it, slight Autumn colour. 4. The bank here is constantly being washed away, so the shape is never the same on this walk. 5. If you are not past the lace holes, you are not doing it properly. 6. A bit of colour here. 7. Here we go again. 8. You might as well keep wading through it. 9. The Motorway is just through the trees. 10. Another section of the banking that moves with the water flow. |

Some of the locals aren't too happy about the amount of traffic passing through -got talking to one lady (who lived in the second house I photographed). It is giving quite a lot of employment to locals though which is a saving grace to these tiny places which might just die out or become commuter belts - you can't have it both ways! |
