There seems to be areas around here where the Poppies bloom at various times so the seas of red carry on over a couple of months. As to the Cornflowers, there's loads of them I see them quite regularly as I'm driving round, what's even better is when you get both growing & mixing along the borders of the wheat fields, captivating & enchanting. :)

I didn't go out yesterday but managed a few good photographs.
The kind lady who does my cleaning was going to do the Starlight walk with two other women and asked if I could take their photographs if they popped round to my place. It was to raise money for the Blackburn Hospice so I willingly obliged.
They want to pay me for the thirty odd 5x7 photos I am printing but I told them to put the money into their charity collection. If they are prepared to walk around for two hours like that they deserve it.

Today and yesterday in Pictures, to busy to post on time so here is the amalgamation of the two days.

1. Tinker Brook as it tinkles past Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve.
2. The Road from Blackburn Road to the original Foxhill Bank, you can just see the railway bridge in the foliage.
3. Very little remains of the factories that covered this site.
4. Ox Eye Daisy on the edge of the reservoir.
5. Wild Cranesbill Geranium.
6. Giant Scabious in Gatty Park.
7. A past its best Rose.
8. Looking across to the bowling green.
9. One "end" before home.
10. Cultivated Cranesbill Geranium.

Thanks for that Turtle, I took a lot more but some, although decent and not offensive, they didn't want them on the web.
They are putting them on their own web site first.

Scabious.....what an ugly name for such an attractive flower.
It sounds like a medieval disease with running sores.....one that everyone who had it would have to wear sacking and stay in the house until all ths scabs dropped off.....or is it just me that is of this opinion?

It`s been a while since we did this walk, along the canal, through castle clough, Hameldon woods & hill then round to the coppice.

1. That`s where we are off to.
2. And that`s where we`ve been.
3. A duck.
4. I think they might be allergic to me.
5. Which is why they always scarper when they see us.
6. I feel like chicken tonight.
7. Took a wrong path and had to walk up there.
8. A beautiful, but not very friendly horse.
9. This one was much nicer.
10. I`m glad there`s a wall between us.

Unplanned trip out on Sunday into the hills above Piacenza where we visited the lovely mediaeval village of Castel Arquato - spot my 'other half' in a few of the photos :D We managed to avoid the rain till after lunch which was a shame as later we drove through some stunning rolling hills dotted with sunflower fields and it wasn't fit to take more pics... More to follow tomorrow of a visit to a lovely art gallery and a delicious lunch at a place a friend recommended which was excellent. I had a snap-happy day!

Decided yesterday that the loaf sitting unused in the kitchen that I would feed the ducks on the way to the parents for tea. No pics of sally awww she's hurt her eye. Well. Not a duck in sight and then I find the path before me blocked. One guy struggled to get past with his dogs, one of which got snapped at but came out unscathed. Another fella tried getting past as I coaxed the swan out the way with bread and almost lost his pants.
I managed to get past not a bother. Well. After all I was their benefactor for the day

We went up Longridge Fell today. You can see Blackpool Tower in the misty distance.

These are mine for today.
A bright warm sunny day..... a bus ride to Southport-again!
1) The cenotaph.
2) looking down Nevill Street towards the pier.
3) somebody has been drawing on the sand.
4) Steven Seagull.
5) A young couple with their dog on the beach.
6) You would swear she is smiling for the camera - but I bet any money she didn't know she was being snapped...I was at least halfway down the pier.
7) People walking on the pier. they aplogised for being in my shot. I thanked them for making my shot 'live'.
8&9) not the best quality...but come on....Blackpool tower and the big dipper from the end of Southport pier. It still amazes me....but then I am easily pleased.
10) an old lamp on the pier.
I hope you enjoyed your day out with me.
