I saw one of those Burnet moths the other day when I was out and about, I thought it was a butterfly though...and it was away before I could get a pic of it....I could have followed, but I would have ended up in the canal:D

Search out the thistles, they infest then at this time of year, in a month they will all be gone.

There don't seem to be as many thistles this year......well not on the path side of the canal.
Maybe that is why the one I saw flew off.....nothing to tempt it on the dry side.

Only one from today, so put in some panoramics from yesterday from around the Yorkshire Moors.

I really like those panoramic shots. I am going to have to have a go at them sometime.

I`ve been trying a new (to me) technique recently, rather than the panoramic mode on the camera, I take individual pics, making sure to overlap, then stitch together in photoshop. A lot more messing than the cameras automatic mode, but you get a lot more detail in the full size pics.

That sounds like a lot of work, but the effects are stunning.
I did once have a go at the stitching thing, but I was hopeless and it put me off a bit.
Might try the automatic stuff first and see how it goes.

Just one photo for today: took a little drive and picked some more strawberries from Andrews Scenic acres. There was a school bus with 40 kids there about to go out into the fields and pick some berries. Now that would have given some good photo ops! But sadly, no time today to linger. I also got some freshly picked asparagus and a strawberry rhubarb pie, still warm from the oven, already sampled as you can see.

Lovely Turtle all delicious things. I love rhubarb pie -have never heard of it in a combination with strawberries -sounds interesting.

Hello Nicola from me too! Have a bit of Italian sunshine :hothothot :D

Wimbledon has started - a favourite time of year for me - makes me nostalgic so I thought I'd share this here!

My Nanna Chaffer's recipe for Lemon Barley water:
3/4 of a cup of pearl barley
Finely grated zest and juice of two lemons
1/2 a cup of honey (more or less)
6 cups of water

1. Rinse the barley in a sieve
2. Place barley in a saucepan with the lemon zest and water
3. Boil over a medium heat for 10 minutes then strain off the liquid into a large jug
4. Stir in the honey and lemon juice - adjust sweetness to taste
5. chill in the fridge once cool
6. Keeps in the fridge for about a week.

The only problem I can see is leaving it for a week in the fridge, I bet not many jugs go untouched for a week.

I think that was one of the very first things we made in cookery lessons...but we didn't use honey...we used sugar.

Uncle Robbo's recipe, open bottle - splash into glass - add required water - chug it down! :D

Failing that, grab a chilled Beer from the fridge! ;)

Thanks Diane. I think the sweet strawberries compliment the tartness of the rhubarb quite nicely. I can recommend it :)
