Dave you should be putting number 10 into that competition that Jen mentioned a while ago.
It is a fantastic capture, and would have a good chance.
Those eyes are enough to melt a heart of stone..

Here`s mine for today, I was hoping for deer, which I did see but they were too quick for me.

1. Some slightly misty water.
2. One of the places I saw the deer.
3. A rushed, one handed snap.
4. My feet are wet through now, I think I need some new boots.
5. Early morning moon
6-9. Not seen one of these before, I think it`s a pied wagtail, a right little poser.
10. The view from Haslingden road.

Great range of shots in all the pics I've seen today - love the fox, the owl and the two white ducks with reflection. It's getting to be a bit like the Wind in the Willows so I'll add a rather ugly toad which is one of a large group which congregate around my plant pots in the evening. We also have a visiting hedgehog who I'll try to photograph next time I see him! I also especially liked Margaret's one of the 3 people on the boards and Dave shot no.7 of the river.

Toad of Toad Hall - it was dark when I took the photo (fraid he's a little out of focus) and you couldn't make out the colours and markings - quite an ugly creature really!

Today in Pictures, almost the same scenario as yesterday, shirt sleeves.....then ending up with wet knickers.

1.Heading down to the river, a favourite walk, but only when time can be elastic as I get lost in my hobby.
2. If I sit down there my jacksie will be on the floor.
3. The green to the horizon is a welcome change from a winter of brown.
4. I carry my boat all this way...just to find it has a hole in......so that is the wet knickers part. (River Calder)
5. Its a blue damselfly Banded Demoiselle | british-dragonflies.org.uk
6. Heading upstream.
7. The turning point of the journey today, Cock Bridge.
8. This view is seconds from the main road.
9. Nuts.....Beech nuts to be specific.
10. A first for me, recently fledged. It has started to rain, hence the wet feathers
.

Nice capture of the owl!

1. I think she`s getting fed up sitting there all day.
2 & 3. A Thrush
4. Droplets in a flower.
5. Back to manual focus, AF couldn`t find this squirrel.
6. A few seconds earlier, their heads and necks made a love heart shape.
7. Low light means the pics get a bit noisey.
8. Oh Oh, this little ones fell down the waterfall and can`t get back up.
9. All alone.
10. Mum`s here to save the day.

All really nice shots. The one of the squirrel is a cracker, and I like your little story of the duckling - a happy ending is nice!

You can still have your vinegar on Poutine, Jen, but the cheese curds melt to a salty, gooey goodness that blends so nicely with the gravy (drool!) - I think I'll go get me some!

Beautiful scenic shots, and I wouldn't be disappointed in missing the deer - the fox is great!

I do have this feeling that poutine could catch on over on your side of the pond. Kingston is a military town, and quite often members of your armed forces, usually sig-ops, are over at CFB Kingston. When the troops are out and about downtown, they can't seem to get enough poutine into them ... (you can tell the Brits by their funny way of talking;)) ...

Oh, they also go for the beer and the girls too.:D

Not disappointed, I`ll be back there tomorrow, just a case of seeing them before they see me.
