Today was something of a wild goose chase.....except I wasn't looking for geese.
My other half suggested I took myself off for a walk to take pictures of the donkeys in the field that is close to the Hyndburn Bridge pub.
I suggested he drop me off in the car and I would walk back. This suggestion fell on deaf ears.
So I walked it.
Here are the pictures from my 'hoof' to see the donkeys.
1) This is the field where the donkeys are...alas not today.
2) Over on the far side of the field was this small pony.
3) At least I know where I stand.
4) A dribble of water.......not enough for Dave to get his gusset wet.
5) The Hyndburn Bridge pub - couldn't even get a drink - it was shut.
6) Scary Tree Man - I came back through Woodlands.
7) A fallen pine cone in Mercer Park.
8) Help...I' ve got this big lump on my trunk.
9) 'She went that way'...The War memorial in Mercer Park.

So I can't say I was overly impressed with my walk, or for that matter the pictures I managed to get. I wanted donkeys, so I feel a bit 'short changed'.

The donkeys weren't there when we went past last week.

Himself went to Morrisons at Gt Harwood yesterday and they were there then.....which is why he suggested that was where I should take a walk to.
I was going to take some carrots. I am glad now that i didn't.

I went passed when I did the Mill Lane walk and the field in question was occupied by a large pack of miniature horses, with I think a few donkeys thrown in. Where do they keep vanishing too, the same happened the last time the field was full of donkeys.

I don't know where they go to, but if I say I was disappointed, it would be a huge understatement.
I like walking, but today I would have liked to have been driven, not least because it was on the warm side...and if himself had got off his BTM and driven me there, seeing that there were NO donkeys, I could have come home and looked for something interesting to snap........I was hot bothered, thirsty and disgruntled when I got back home with this pathetic lot of pictures.

I just have to hope that tomorrow will be fine, dry and lead me somewhere with some decent subject matter.

Don't be too hard on yourself all pictures have merit and are appreciated when uploaded, just remember who suggested going to see them in the first place, and who made you walk all that way.

Too the rear of the Hyndburn pub is a small bridge going over the Hyndburn, it may be of interest the next time you are down in the area.

Today in Pictures, it was a time limited outing, and I got camping which ate up my time, so here are the few I could manage, and a couple from Broadway, I don't usually stop to listen unless they are entertaining, this man made me stop.

Of course you are right. And it does document my day. I will look at these pics in the future and remember how peevish and petulant I felt(I am being honest...and a little bit ashamed of myself)...and how this is not the way to get the best out of a camera, or the best out of a day.

I will look out for the little bridge next time I go down there to capture the donkeys and might just take a wander. Who knows what I might find?

Its not an architectural masterpiece, it is more a curiosity, and worth a mooch around the area.

Today`s walks were around the canal, Foxhill Nature Reserve, Woodlands and then back along the river.

1. Not sure what this is.
2. A coot
3. Grey Heron, a young one I think.
4. Mum or Dad being chased by a duck.
5. There once was an itchy duckling.
6. Blue Damselfly.
7. Swallows.
8. Same as No. 1?
9. Now where did I put my keys.
10. Having a dust bath.

Love the duckling! Sparrows are quite handsome birds in all their brownness I think :)
