Burnley Mecca was really strict with their staff. We all had to line up and show our finger nails before work. They did provide a free taxi back to Accy though.

If they only knew what me and my mate got up to behind that bar! Memories!!!

bus to Blackburn..then have a couple down the little bull..up to Yates.. then Sun or Swan, Dunn and then Mecca..if you had not pulled in Mecca it was over to the Cav before 11.. and if as sometimes happened you were refused entry ..there was always the Tophat ..and that is a different story! :D

Loved the Ace of Spades to, as I was working and living in at Brockhall at the time so I could walk back over the fields, if I needed to. Friday nights were the Loadstar, then on to the Royal Oak on longsight Rd, great jukbox, on to Blackburn for a few pubs then the Cav. driving all the way , crazy iresponsible days, we didnt know any better,

Can't believe only two people has mentioned the Loadstar. Used to love it there and also the New Inns at Rishton. Didn't really start going to nightclubs until late 70s due to not being born till 61. Anybody remember the Apollo? Weren't really a night club but it was a good night.
