2 questions, was it the Concord in the market close to the Cavendish and what was the name of the pub, I think they did it up and changed the name in the early 70's, on the run to the Palms which you got to at the end of the path through the Cathedral from the bus station?

I used the Pub every night prior to oing into work at the Cav, it was called the Concord, not sure what your second question was though, the path from the Deck to the Pamls was Dandy Walk

There was a new pub near the Cavendish called the Clarence opened about the same time, used to go out with the barmaid, Pub at the end of Dandy Walk was the Sun I think.

Could it have been Rawtenstall because first we went to a girl's house in Haslingden (Sheila Tuey (Paddock House) and her dad accompanied us.Mind you, might have been Nelson! I also went to a place in Bolton (very dingy) and I think Rod Stewart was on. Can't remember the name of it either ( it's the red wine that's pickling my brain my brain. This thread has brought back loads of memories, I used to go up the Ossie Empire and they used to stamp your hand if you wanted to go out for some fresh air! |
