Re: do you remember.....?

So the men prefer the masculine version ending in 'O'
Two of us ladies know it by the feminine ending 'A'

Re: do you remember.....?

Sorry, ladies, here is the proof from the cover of an old Stanley programme currently on ebay. Just look closely at the ad in the middle of the page...

1953/4 Accrington Stanley v Barnsley programme on eBay, also League Fixtures 1950-1958, League Fixtures, Football Programmes, Sports Memorabilia (end time 03-Feb-08 10:24:19 GMT)

There's a terribly rude joke, just waiting to be told here, but I don't think it should be me that does it.

I suppose it's possible if the typesetter/compositor was female.

Don't think so, the example shown was from 1953/54, and the very same ad was still running on the cover of 1960 programmes (obviously, the Melbo's owner believed in the power of advertising!). I've seen a fair few examples from various seasons and it's always shown as Melbo. Reckon if it was a printer's error, it would have been corrected at some point over the intervening six years!
