An important weekend possibly. If La Creme de la Creme win this weekend and the others don't, then it could be all over. However, May could be interesting, depending on how some clubs progress in the FA Cup, and Europe -the real Europe, not this Europa thing that D in G's lot are in:-)))

Four games in the next ten days for us Barrie.. I reckon we should get 8 points or more.. but then we have to play the 2 postponed away games at Blackpool n chelski..the re-schedule looks like us playing chelski twice in 3 weeks..let battle commence! :mosher:

Well since 1992 they've done something that the likes of Liverpool, Spurs, Newcastle, Man City (although that will probably change soon) Leeds Aston Villa, and Everton would have loved to have done as they've thrown enough money at it. Blackburn Rovers are MY Team, I've supported them through thick and thin in the lean years and the good years, I didn't swap to he Dingles then to Everton and then onto United Glory Hunting as one member of this site did, I stayed loyal. As one bloke once said to me "Have you been a Rovers supporter all your life" to which I answered No not yet:D:D

Love that Jay.
Never supported any one team until 1953, then I saw the light. Before then I had watched Rovers (my first match), play Stoke with Matthews playing, Stanley, Burnley and Blackpool, but true to only one and it has been that way ever since. That is what democracy is all about, we can support who we want in whatever field.:):):)

I know, I know, Barrie, but I'm now offering special dispensations to Accringtonians who adopt Stanley as their second club. I realise your recent experience at the Crown was...how shall we say?...uninspiring, but I'm hoping this wll be the start of a long and happy relationship! ;)

If you don't know a wind up when you see it then you really are a dimwit..I've said I mostly watched Rovers or Burnley when I was very young .. I suppose you can say that means I "supported" those clubs...but then much the same as barry I went to Old Trafford in my teens and knew they were the team for me.. none of those teams ,including United, were winning leagues in those days, so I don't see how you can call me a glory hunter.

Rooneys says Happy New Year to you Jaysay :D

Man Utd goal: The perfect way to start the year. Inside the third minute, Patrice Evra swings in a cross from the left and Wayne Rooney stoops to direct a precise header into the bottom corner. That's his first goal in open play for his club since March.

Talk about creeping through... Liverpool booed off at half time by thier "loyal supporters" at a half empty Anfield . Torres should have been sent off but nothing done ...they rag a winning goal in injury time..same old same old

Anybody except your lot - well, no, that is not really correct, City always come lower in the pecking order - City, Liverpool and then that load of losers from London.

If United win it it will be by default, they've only played a descent game once this season, unfortunately that was against us:mad::D

Having watched the highlights on footy first on Sky, this was no fluke, the Rovers were better in every department, apart from score a goal and blast a pen into row Z Gerrard may as well been sat in the directors box chatting to Damian Duff:D

Another thing that seems to have gone unnoticed is we had 7 or 8 first team regulars out either injured, on international duty or suspended, Liverpool were at full strength;););)

Yep ..I reckon the Liverpool board got cold feet at the thought of getting knocked out of the F.A. cup
BBC Sport - Football - Roy Hodgson and Liverpool part company

So it's "king kenny".. the saviour:D... I hope he has the same success he's had at the last 3 clubs he was sacked from! :D

Much as the demand is for Kenny (and he was good for the Club) he never really wanted to be in charge again, he did his stint & he did it well then he chose to step down. The fundamental problem lies with the team not the managers if the pieces aren't the right ones you can't fix the problem. It was the same at Newcastle with Shearer, public outcry for the man, but the rot had already set in so he couldn't change the outcome !

Much as I like Kenny & his wife, they've been loyal & unstinting in their work for the Club, so they don't deserve this added pressure being placed upon them ! Should Liverpool drop well so be it, maybe then reality will sink in & perhaps the stupidity will be seen for what it is !

Re: Liverpool road to the title 2011

If you look at Hodgson's record over the last few seasons, then Liverpool's current position of 12th in the Premiership is the best they could expect from him. Ok, he got Fulham to the final of the Thursday night cup, but that's about it.

Kenny Dalglish has got a thankless task. Sounds as though he's been railroaded into it by the fans. Definite reminders of Shearer at Newcastle.

Even the great Man United got relegated and then went 26 years before they won the title Dave, so the pool have a way to go before they drop so low:D

We were back the following season and we have made up for the barren years - especially since we stabilised under one Manager. He was given time to mold his teams.
Hodgson did not have the chance to do that - he inherited a load of inadequate players and did not have the time or resources to rid himself of the dross and bring in some decent players.;);):D

Hang on Dave.. didn't Dalglish apply for the Pool job in the summer but got a knock back?
Anyway I expect him being back in charge today at Old Trafford will have a good affect on pool players, at least they know no-one's gonna get the sack if they lose.. and it's also a massive lift for the 9,000 scousers we kindly let have tickets for the game. :)... really tough match this one!
