Never mind...now this is a record that's a million miles away from the stuff I usually like. However, it's pure nostalgia. One listen and I'm back in 1972...up to Melbourne Street to get my dole money, down to the Pickwick to spend it on pints of beer (many of which, I now realise, were nicked by Cashy). Happy days!

I was dragged up with a vox amplifier, guitar with tremelo arm and a good dose finger picking!

just a footnote by comparison though - you may know, if you play the pianoforte, most people find left/right hand synchronicity extemely difficult and whilst Oscar's rendition was played right hand with fantastic alacrity, the left hand manoevres were outplayed, in my opinion, by TJ's - and that's where most of the 'beat' and a lot of the melody comes from. Not to say the two of them are maestro's.
Bring on the CLayderman's, Atwell's and not least the ever popular Liberace:)

some of you might remember this outfit from your pheasant plucking days - I bumped into the saxophonist a while back, they were doing a gig at the local bingo hall where he is one of the callers. He told me he still gets a royalty cheque every month for a riff that he composed way back then:)
