On the subject of instrumentals, this has to be one of the "coolest" pieces of music I've ever heard, even though it's slightly removed from my normal soulful taste.

Ian Levine (ex Blackpool Mecca DJ) persuaded Alfie Davison to perform this version of "Love is a serious business" his 70's Monster Northern Soul classic, on a cold February day, on the streets of Brooklyn, for his documentary film "The Strange World Of Northern Soul" which saw its premiere at Blackburn King Georges Hall about 8 years ago. It was a great day, the film lasted 10 hours, 9:00am-9:00pm and was followed by the regular KGH soul night, where we saw Bobby Paris perform "Nite Owl" live.
