Really enjoyed this classic, as well as the performance from the band that never fail to impress me, the Manics. The last couple of 'Jools' shows have been of a higher standard than previous series. Or is it just that pop music is getting better lately? I don't know. In the prior programme I only tuned in for one of my favourite bands (Sonic Youth) yet really enjoyed Lily Allen's performance, and I think her new album is brilliant. Wish that particular sentence wasn't true. I'm rambling now.

I know what you mean about losing the band to the Radio 1 infected masses... the same thing has happened with many of my favourite bands; more recently Kings of Leon. The only difference there is that Elbow now have better tunes than in the early days, and the recognition/hype surrounding the latest work is more than deserved. That can't really be said for KoL.
