Re: Signings
Stanley also have interest from elsewhere in a couple of their players. Turned down a couple of approaches & keen to keep squad together
|
Re: Signings
Barnsley will want a fee for Kayden no doubt but the deal will happen.

Money would be well spent on Rodak.
Can't afford to keep giving teams soft goals. At the minute we've a gaff prone keeper and no-one to help shoulder the burden upfront. Last seasons problems not sorted (yet). |

Been impressed with this guys pace during the friendlies.
He's a real livewire & I'm sure will prove effective at League 2 level. A definite asset to our attack. |

Deal done with Barnsley for Kayden.

Re: Signings
Undisclosed fee what a suprise
|
Re: Signings
Good luck to Rommy at Orient.
A player who always gave 101% for the team & left us with so many great memories. A loyal servant of the club and a true Stanley legend who was always, and will remain, a fans favourite. |

Good news to read that Jordan Clark has extended his contract. :)
|
Re: Signings
Brilliant news!
Without doubt Jordan will play a vital role in our promotion this season. :hothothot |
Re: Signings
No doubt at all fer me a great signing extension, well done Stanley.:)

Re: Signings
Best signing so far ....... Clicker will have an important role this season.

Good news indeed :)

Re: Signings
Gary Roberts available on a free! For one, I would welcome his experience back at Stanley.

All about the $ and length of contract.

High lads/Lasses, Bradford fan here, just wondered if this lad is any good? Cheers and good luck for the season.

Transfer Central rumoured the move
Someone 'at Bradford' confirmed contact had been made but nothing imminent Andy replied "with who, first Ive heard of it" Wht would he not deny it at that juncture? By all means ramp up interest if a move is on the cards, but not at such cheek. Bradford 'appen think they got McCarten for next to nowt so can come offer another set of tracksuits to take Pearson. £1m and Shay McCarten please |
Re: Signings
I would be very wary when stories like this arise. Is it just an agent trying to unsettle a player?? or is there serious interest behind the scenes? We can only watch.
|
Re: Signings
It's all kicking off on Twitter !!!!
|
Re: Signings
I would really hope that we don't lose anyone else especially so close to the start of the season - can only keep everything crossed that we now keep our squad intact

What Im saying is that Andy has rightly denied any knowledge because to confess there is might bring other suitors along. It's all a game but let's be clear. Pearson is a contracted player so if Accrington say no - it's NO. Every commodity has a price. |
Re: Signings
Going against the grain here, but Mattys more than proved himself at this level.
If the deal (money) suited Acci, then I would love to see him ply his trade at an higher level. Top lad and I have no doubt he would be a success. Funny Wigans not been in for him :) |
Re: Signings
F19 - that's because you're confusing Wigan with a higher level!
|
Re: Signings
To keep you all smiling;
Matty P has just returned from a 2nd training session of the day and he's totally unaware of any new interest in him. With a big smile on his face his words were; " i cant stop people talking about me; see you on Thursday morning" :) |

It's all a game but let's be clear. Pearson is a contracted player so if Accrington say no - it's NO. Every commodity has a price.[/QUOTE] andy has probebly denied knowledge as there hasn,t been anything official going on at the moment. no matter what happens over the next few days he still is our player and i,m sure that we,ll get a good fee for him. the give away days are over. probebly another reason our stay away follower has turned his back on the club. he,ll be hard to replace if he does go, so quicker something happens one way or another is better for us and matty. |

Re: Signings
He was at Sunderland last year ...
I'm led to believe he is highly rated, and Coley stated 12 months ago we'd get a high fee for him - so why dont we play him and get the fee higher! |
Re: Signings
Thought Sykes looked a good prospect in the first half against PNE.
I hope he stays and can develop at Stanley but, if the club has to lose one of its central defenders,...... |

Apparently want £800k for him and it's really peed off the Wigan fans whose wraith for the snake appears to be growing especially as they want to bring in one Gary Roberts and Noel Hunt and bin out Bogle

Re: Signings
|
Re: Signings
The interest from Bradford City & now Leeds in our players speaks volumes of the background work the management have put in to produce players worthy of playing at a much higher level.
The first team & academy coaches should be congratulated on achieving such success on what must be a shoestring budget. |
Re: Signings
Our Cat 3 Academy has a very generous PL funding; just under £300k pa plus the club contributes more than the minimum required. This is currently the case and was the same under Peter Marsden's reign.

Re: Signings
I see that Morecambe have signed a Kiwi ,Steve Old. He went to primary school with my eldest girl and his dad was an All Black. Glad Steven chose the right sport. :)

Re: Signings
How "Home Grown"Ross Sykes has never been given a chance to prove himself in a Stanley shirt and so easily allowed to go for a trial at Leeds beggars belief. What is the reason for constantly overlooking this talented, ambitious 17 year old week after week? I don't understand the idea of bringing through a young player to the point of getting on the bench and then blocking his progress from that point on. What ever is the outcome of this situation, I wish Ross the very best for his future and should he prove to be successful at another club then I will begin to wonder what criteria is applied by management to get selected to play.

Were we blocking Connor Mahoney's progress when we let him go to Rovers after only playing a couple of times for our first team? He seems to have done well for himself since - it might not work out at Leeds & Ross may well come back, if so I really hope he gets his chance in the first team when he's ready to do so. |
Re: Signings
Disagree accymad, its blocking his progress at stanley, the place i believe the lad was dead keen to do so.Also doubt a club of Leeds stature would take on trial one who they thought wasn't ready?

Re: Signings
The kids got talent. However sometimes it's assumed they're ready where they're not.
Very difficult to curb enthusiasm. If he goes he won't get near the first team squad for two seasons. Regan Poole another talent who was at Newport now with Man U. Just gone on loan to Northampton. |

Certainly talented but if I'm honest not ready for the rigours of League Two - just yet. He will get lost in the mire with Leeds. |
Re: Signings
You find most young centre backs tend to be given more game time at fullback,e.g. Tom lees, whilst they get experience.
Probably their mistakes are less costly in wide areas. Think the emergence of Rodgers last year cost Sykes his chance, good young player tho |
Re: Signings
Team photo shoot tomorrow I believe wonder if there will be any new faces on that we maybe are signing?
|
Re: Signings
I'm one of Sykes biggest fans, Not seen a great deal of him but when I have he's looked good!
The thing is now who do you drop to "give him a game" Personally I'd send him out on loan, not because he's not good enough but just to get him that invaluable experience before throwing him in at League 2! |

The kid is ambitious and eager. Nothing wrong with that but he needs to take stock. The grass isn't always greener.
Leicester were dead keen last year as were Sunderland. All in good time Ross. Leeds not right for you. |
Re: Signings
Ross played tonight against Padiham!
Still think he could do with a loan move instead of being chucked Infront of a bus at football league level and a few hours in the gym with some weights! Looks promising though |
