The second signing was Andy Holts' new hat
|
Re: Signings
Looks like a player has been approach by another club as the chairman put on titter about the right way to approach a player and don’t take the pee out of us.
|
Re: Signings
Think Kayden J got a new agent a couple of days ago as well.
Dare one put two and two together? |

Titter - I love that !!!

|
Re: Signings
How would I know ?
The only rumour and I stress rumour is that we may make an offer to Kyel Reid ex Coventry. Im more worried about traffic the other way to be honest. We have a few golden nuggets but at least they’re tied up on contract so the club totally in charge. |
Re: Signings
Chairman said he’s had phone calls off agents, offering less than 100k for some of our players, with part of the deal being of the team gets promoted! He told them no.
https://twitter.com/andyhholt/status...580786688?s=21 https://twitter.com/andyhholt/status...984715264?s=21 Great message from him |
Re: Signings
Andy can be very open.
Sometimes too open. His twelve point Twitter response wasn’t needed in my humble opinion. Talking about paying lower than crap money and wanting to raise the bar ...... not for the public domain. |
Re: Signings
Missed a good keeper today. Collin to Carlisle.
|
Re: Signings
"As a result of winning @SkyBetLeagueTwo all our squad, back office, management will receive a rise in pay as income grows. This is long overdue, we really paid crap wages and my ambition is to raise them to just crap this season"
Got to admire his candour and if its tongue in cheek fair enough but do we really need to tell everybody our whole squad is on really crap money ? Doesn't that just attract more interest ? |
Re: Signings
Give me a chairman who is totally honest AND has a sense of humour over the weasily world of agents and pimps.

Mark Hughes has signed a new one year deal with an option for a further year - good news :)
|
Re: Signings
And followed by Mr.Sykes. The little I've seen of him he looks to have the potential to be a great asset to the team.
|
Re: Signings
I have also been very impressed with young sykes, Thought Huddersfield would be a good test and he certainly played very well imho.
|
Re: Signings
Good to see a young player coming through from the youth team. Burnley's loss is our gain. He gave a very assured performance against Huddersfield and although still young and with lots to learn, he could prove to be a very good defender for us.
|
Re: Signings
You should also mention Sousa if you're talking about existing players extending their stay.

its ok sousa and hughes re signing but apart from piero who else have we signed apart from piero. only 2 weeks to go now and i,d have thought we might see some new blood in by now. if i have missed any new signings i apologise.

Re: Signings
Agreed Monkey.
Pressure is on to keep what we've got ......... and not even a rumour of anyone coming in the opposite direction. All we need now is a few injuries ..........goalkeeper centre forward and centre back ....... and that pressure tap might blow. Hopefully there's a plan in place and there will be a flurry of activity soon. |
Re: Signings
But in the meantime, that's another impressive result against a much bigger and expensive squad.
Well done, Stanley. Must try and find a Boro fan to offer my commiserations. :D |
Re: Signings
Overall another good display against a higher status side, was good to see young sykes get the winner at the death, though boros first goal should have been disallowed for a blatant handball, the linesman on the cowshed side shoulda gone to specsavers last week, must be his sight cos no-one could be that useless. also just before we scored the winner Sykes was shoved down to the floor, directly in his line of sight with no-one obstructing it. that was another penalty if he had bothered to watch the game.

Not a signing as such but just read on twitter that we've brought Tony Warner in as goalkeeping coach, wasn't he here briefly a few years ago??
Welcome back aboard Tony :) |

He was with the keepers Saturday on the pitch.
Thought it had already been announced. |

Re: Signings
Good news cashman.
If the club gets an offer it can’t refuse and the lad gets the chance to set himself up for life financially along with playing for a far bigger club, then I wish him all the best. Coleman has a strong track record of finding Gems. I do expect Stanley to have a very busy deadline day for the first time with the new Aug 9th date and the daft wages players are asking for. No doubt we will find some lads who want the opportunity to impress in league 1, and hopefully the deadline day counting down will help them be more realistic when it comes to wage demands. We need to make the deadline day changes work in our favour. |
Re: Signings
A million might be a tough offer to refuse. But can we sign a better player, especially with time short? And it's not as if we have loads of strikers on our books...
|
Re: Signings
Coley says he is still after 2 strikers could be that he is resigned to losing Kayden if that is the case get as much as we can I think in current market 1.5 million as to be realistic.

Re: Signings
Rumour today Cardiff City are set to make an offer!
THE ASKING PRICE JUST DOUBLED! |
Re: Signings
As sad as it is I can't see Kayden staying. There's just too much interest and every player has a price and every club based on their circumstances has to sell if all criteria met. We've at least four players attracting interest.
Bet Coley can't wait for the 9th. |
Re: Signings
Sell them all for top money and replace them with more Coleman rough diamonds putting the remaining money into a training ground and/or replacing the coppice end
|
Re: Signings
If that's the way you want to go that's fine.
We haven't exactly excelled in the purchase market so far have we ? Not for me - with the exception of Kayden because of the money involved. Try your best to keep this squad together I say. |
Re: Signings
agree completely.unless ridiculous money is offered, then it becomes no choice.
|
Re: Signings
The lads played a major part in Accis success and his pace gives him the X factor.
Can he be a success at an higher level ?,hard to say,but I’d have him over Waghorn all day long. If we get two million, snatch their hand off !!! |
