My wife and I went to a similar event in Ediburgh in 2000. There I met the Accy Pipe Band. There were 10,000 pipers and drummers there from all over the world. I don't think the New York Tartan Day...

Roger Colbridge became Drum Major in 1920 at age 15. My mother new him well, he was still going when I left in 1967. John Tinnions wife was called Nellie.

If you look on my album you will see a picture taken in 1957. I am not on it because I was away doing my National Service in the RAF.

The first photo is the Queen Victoria's Jubilee Parade 1897, the Band had been going for 12 years. That is Grange Lane. I am on the second picture, second from the front on the right flank. I was 17...

Hi
I was a member of the Accrington Pipe Band from 1949 till 1967. During that time, in the many parades I took part in there where people popping out and taking pictures of the band as we pasted....

Happy memories of Accy. Grew up there for the first 33 years, then emigrated to Canada. Not sure it was the best thing but here I am.
