Re: Bookworms: What are you reading at the moment?
Just finished Bernard Corwells's 'Azincourt' (Agincourt). What a cracking read. The battle scenes are verging on the horrific, but nonetheless riveting. My rating: 10/10 both for characterisation and content.

Oh I love reading
I have a few 'on the go' all the time At the moment, they range from 'The Zombie survival guide' Max Brooks, which is hilarious 'Hindsighted' by Karin Slaughter, serial killer thrill and gore 'The power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle which has had huge impact 'Expect a miracle', Kathy Freston 'How to kill your husband (and other handy household hints)' by Kathy Lette which is funny and then a load of papers and articles about detrusor instability and irritable bladder..er... hohum... hahaha |

Re: Bookworms: What are you reading at the moment?
I have just finished reading 'The Other Boleyn Girl' by Philippa Gregory and prior to that i read a couple of other books by the same author....'Wideacre' and 'Meridon'.
I can heartily recommend these books to readers who like historical fiction.Although don't be put off by that categorisation, they were both books full of action and passion. |
Re: Bookworms: What are you reading at the moment?

Re: Bookworms: What are you reading at the moment?
Checked out a new novel by Saul David who is acclaimed for writing history books. His first venture into novel writing is Zulu Hart and I can thoroughly recommend it to lovers of action narratives. The action is based on true events surrounding the British campaign against the Zulu nation, culminating at Rorkes Drift in January 1879 (which features in the film Zulu). A real page turner which I can heartily recommend.

Re: Bookworms: What are you reading at the moment?
My beloved has just bought me Wilbur Smith's Assegai which I have out to one side until I finish reading Simon Scarrow's Fire & Sword (the third book in his Bonaparte/Wellington quartet) which are extremely informative if a little hard going at times. My trouble is, if I start a book, I just have to stick with it - so Wilbur will have to wait a little longer.
