No Eric it is you lot who drive on the wrong side of the road.

This all stemmed from the Roman times when the legionnaires would march on the left side of the road so that their sword hand (the right) was closest to anyone marching towards them.

That sort of pre-dates the emergence of Canada and the states.

The Yanks opted to travel on the right as a protest against the British pre independence. They did the same with the English language with the spelling of certain words. The Yanks were in effect cocking a snook at the British way.

Oh! Don’t get me started on women as passengers navigating. In fact this doesn’t apply just to women but to most men as well.

If they can get the left and right, right the instruction is usually “turn left/right” but no indication where to turn left/right and is more often than not just as you are passing the junction. Or you often get just “turn here”. Where? Which way?

Re: Should women drivers be Banned ?

If you note some of the old western films showing stage coaches, the drivers are always sat on the proper side of the coach. Its just the sepo's
couldn't tell left from right when they started making cars, so cocked everything up and as usual expected every body else to conform to their way of doing things.
