Really surprised about Hollands Pies and commiserations to all those affected by job loses. Accrington is famous for its pies! Can't believe theyre going to Ireland! I love Hollands Pies too, but will boycott and have Cissie Greens instead (just as good, if not better :))

The thing is they have been probably planning this for a while, probably thats why they only take agency staff on.maybe they got tempted by a big grant off the eec or the local council in ireland got the grant to build the place..dont want to be alarmist but this sounds like the beginning of the end ...

If they were going to move production, surely the place to move it to should be The Netherlands – what people often wrongly refer to as Holland.

Can't see the business sense in moving production to Ireland...they will have to be transported back over here,Holland's pies are a regional product, like for Northeners.
I suppose they may sell a fair amount of potato pies in Ireland cos the Paddy's love spuds!
