To make Kipax happy. "Save it" perhaps should read "Restore to a place of prominence"

We haven't wasted any money on it, it was commissioned and bought by the owners of the Arndale.

Actually in it's heyday it was probably well worth whatever they paid for it as people visited Accy (yes actually came from out of town!) to see it and while they were here they probably shopped in the Arndale. It had more "crowd drawing" quality than the flippin cafe.

Lets keep it it is unique and besides if the clock works they could find it a home. As a oiece of modern art somebody must have a place sonwere for it.

The first time I saw the clock in '88' I was totally enthralled. My wife also. We hung around it for a while watching it work. There was also tons of people in there as well watching it. I heard many adjectives bestowed upon it. However it seemed to be a unique kind of Accringtonian icon. Lets face it if you loved it or hated it it was at least a local attraction. I hope it's restored

well I loved watching that clock. Used to take the kids in just to watch it. No longer go into accy much so maybe I could be persuaded if they brought back the clock. Although don't think kids would be as interested now they are teenagers!
