Re: The Tories

Tell you what, let's start from scratch shall we ? You insist you haven't mentioned Labour fine, but all your arguments have been against the coalition, but to suit your purposes you've used the expression Tories/Cameron etc, etc thereby confirming your revulsion of all things Tory. The fact that it's a coalition running the country means their partners should also come in for derision & on occasion you've done so thereby also confirming your contempt for the Libdems & Clegg.

So by simple elementary deduction you are howling with indignation from a Labour standpoint ! Am I wrong ? Therefore to counter your limp arguments examples of Labour ineptitude & incompetence are held up as vindication to balance the argument (are you still managing to comprehend ?)

Where some possible confusion (on your part not mine) could have arisen is in your statement
"it gets more idiotic by the day replacing british pilots with foriegn ones i just dont get it talking about cheap labour this takes the biscuit Sacked RAF pilots replaced by foreign personnel - Telegraph :mad::mad:"
Here you use the word Labour but in the context of work & not politics my reply to which was
"What cheap labour ? The courses are being filled by other nations & they're paying, it'd be the same as you crossing the border to take driving lessons (read the article)."Also using the work context in this instance so you see I haven't used labour in the political sense so any twisting is of your own doing. ;) Now we're bang up to date can we now maybe carry on with a sensible discussion ?

Yes start from scratch... the thread was posted to highlight and debate the deficiencies of the present government...and most of the replies are more or less "Labour are worse" and such.
And so after over 240 posts (admited many of which are one line links) can we get back to slagging off this government?..or maybe someone should start a thread on how bad the last lot were! :D

Mancie, you did tempt fate somewhat by mentioning "the last lot" in your opening post! From then on, the floodgates were open... :D

Jaysay, since you posted directly after him?

Is this the caring face of the political left?

Castigating his ability to work, because he can't, through serious ill health?

Whilst 'you' have to work until sixty eight.

Unless you have a crystal ball, count your blessings if you're still here at sixty eight, and able to work. No one knows what's around the corner in this life.

A true socialist, of which you're not one, would happily work, if they were fit and able, in order to provide for those in genuine need, who could no longer earn a living because of illness.

Like I said, your measly, whingingly selfish attitude has more in common with Thatcherism, than it has to the ideals of true socialism.

Self-pitying, as well as boring in the extreme.

Well done.

Confirming this attack was aimed ay Jaysay?

The silence speaks volumes, sadly.

You carry on posting your comfortingly lazy links.

Mancie, I'm rather surprised "Present Government" ??? Not Tories ? Are you at last accepting the fact that we have a Coalition in power ?

Marvellous, but if you hadn't been so intentionally inflammatory with your title "The Tories" & initial statement (just a quick reminder) "Anyting they do is a cock up..." perhaps the following 200+ posts wouldn't have been so acrimonious & degenerated into a slanging match about who's worse.

I agree that some of the decisions made by those in power have been atrocious & in all honesty can't see the benefit to the British people, but these measures have been brought about by the present Coalition Government due to the failings & weaknesses of past (I don't just mean labour also the Tories before them) poorly led & mediocre parties. Had we had some Politicians of strength, determined resolve & backbone the UK would definitely not be the miserable little Island it is now sitting in the shadow of Europe & America.

The once renowned Bulldog spirit of the British people, which at one time saw us controlling half the world & its resources, defend against major tyranny twice in the 20th Century with the associated loss to our Countries future due to the sacrifice of our military men, has gradually aided the decline of the Great British way of life & in the later more (peaceful ?) part of the 20th Century our gains & pride have been further eroded by self serving career politicians of all stripes. Therein lies the true failings of the UK, its feeble subservient political classes & until they are eradicated the UK will slip further into the mire !

Can't find your original rant but I'll answer

Every man or women in this country should have proper care when needed and I'd say people in that position should be given more help both financial and medical .. .if that means higher taxes or if the country needs to borrow to help our own when they need it so be it I have no problem.

I do have a problem when people who took full advantage of the benifits that were in real terms increased after 1997 are now keen on the idea that this government should cut the income of the less well off (wether it be the low paid, those on benifits or tax credits) ..of a sudden it seems we have been spending to much on are ill people and the old or infirm.
If that makes me a left wing militant unsocialist self pitying thatcherite'' fair enough
