I reckon that is spot on Cashman..I'm surprised you ain't been shot down with the usual "left wing bigot" replies for even daring to question this governments strategy of cuts in everything no matter what (but then again not really);)... it's pretty clear that nothing has been thought out from the word "go".... 30% cuts in everything is not a plan.. it's a lazy, incompetent agenda, and shows little respect to voters of any colour.

Is it any wonder this country ended up in a complete mess when the Government were more interested in infighting than handling the crisis after the 7/7 bombings

Re: The Tories

The decision to retire the Harrier was wrong. Unfortunately the Sea Harrier had already been retied by the last government back in 2002, making the Aircraft Carriers useless, they were withdrawn in 2006.
It was the Sea Harrier that saw action in the Falklands.

The Land Harrier is not designed for sea use and does not have the necessary protection for salt water conditions.

If I was a sacked RAF trainee pilot, or a redundant RAF pilot, I know what I would do.....Join Cathy, Emirates, Virgin, BA, or any other legacy airline around the world, less exciting, but tons more money.

I don't blame squadies wanting to leave the Army, after many many years of under supply and lack of equipment (are you listening Mr Bliar:eek:), being sent to fight a war, that was built on a lie regarding 45 minutes and sexing up of evidence, remember that???, who would not want to get out while they were still alive.

Unfortunately I don't believe I have seen a government in the 41 years I have been on this planet that gives a damm about the vast majority of the population..:D

As they say:
Crisis what crisis,
Things can only get better,
Are you thinking what we're thinking?,
Don't let him take Britain back to the 1980s,
"Fire up the Quattro. It's time for change,
New Labour, New Danger,
We are all in this together.
Feel free to add to this cmon:D

Re: The Tories

There is no government on earth that gets everything right for every one of the people who voted for it.....and remember lots of people didn't vote for this particular shade of government.
The fact of the matter is that this government( and had it been a Labour Government it would have been the exactly same) inherited a poison chalice.
A country who was up to the eyeballs in debt because of previous lax financial policies......not to mention all the other problems(so I won't).
Labour says it wouldn't do what this coalition is doing, but....as I have said before. You can say anything you like when in opposition, because you know the theory wont be tested in the practical sense.
This is my last post to this thread.........I do not feel that replying to links posted from newspapers/news sites etc, with little more than a line of comment makes for anything of a discussion. It is just lazy posting.....not discussion.
