there's my choice..if yer going to get in a state were you shoot to kill looters then we might as well all move to Syria..or go the whole hog and implent Sharia law.

Doh .....the Syrian Govt. is secular and is fighting to stop the implementation of Sharia law thats why the Saudis have withdrawn their Ambassador ......just goes to show how dumb the western leaders are in backing this "Arab Spring" bullcrap ..... thats if the West really really don't want the Islamic Brotherhood and their ilk taking over :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

And also what Police, this is 2011? There are plans afoot to cut the number of police in London. The common theme running through the reports of rioting across London was that there were no police about.

Cameron is chairing a meeting of COBRA at 9am. Item 1 should be how to double the number of police in London, and Item 2 should be how to give them the resources they need. Stun guns, water cannon, tear gas etc etc

Seems to me the police are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't , just what is the role of the police , from reading posts on Accy web they aren't allowed to ticket illegally parked cars , a traffic wardens job, not allowed to stop public intoxination outside the town hall/market hall . Seems to me most folks think the police are made up of "Gene Hunt/ Life on Mars" gangster type characters, doesn't help when the London police let themselves down with things like the money for stories News of the World scandal or local police are involved in drug sales/firearms or wife beating as reported in the local press, any wonder they have lost all respect . :confused: :confused:

This may sound strange but I agree with Mancie on this, shooting people on the streets ain't the answer, two wrongs don't make a right, the organisers of these riots and they are being orchestrated, should feel the full weight of the law, they are using social networking sites to coordinate these mindless actions and the police will be able to gain access after the fact to track down these criminals, I'm just waiting for the human rights brigade to chirp up which is one thing sure to happen

It ain't just about shooting anybody on the street. It's about shooting those who are running down the street with a 42" plasma flatscreen on their head. What's wrong with that?

This is costing millions, if caught its a slap on the wrist, maybe the odd imprisonment all again at great cost to the taxpayer, get the armed police on the streets, kneecapping a few of them might just start getting the message across to the mindless scum.

One thing that is now peeing me off is the BBC have just announced they are cutting programs on BBC1 at 11am for a news special on the riots, what that means is they will be running the same program on two channels at the same time BBC1 and the BBC News Channel, its a joke
