Re: Alcohol/Canal
In my opinion the shopping trolleys pose a bigger threat to everyone than the fire extinguishers or the footballs, they are a still and silent threat never moving much often unseen but lurking in the shallows or the deep. They are nothing if not versatile , we have also failed to realize the problem of the deadly wheelie bin which are a strong and resilient creature with the ability to even ground and stop twenty to boats in their tracks. The invasion of our canal system by alien or foreign bodies or entity's is a problem we have yet to fully come to terms with, we must stay alert to the threat these invaders pose.

They like enticing people into dangerous waters with the idea that £1 may be there somewhere

I am starting to question the sanity of some of the contributers to this thread, the idea that shopping trolleys pose a threat to the canal is misguided. It is known that shopping trolleys prefer shallow water due to their lack of buoyancy, plus they like to disguise themselves, see attachments for proof, this would not be possible submerged.
The fact that trolleys are found in the canal is a misjudgment on the trolly's part and once placed is irreversible. The extinguisher has not moved position, just rotated on its axis, the reason for this is unknown at this time. |
Re: Alcohol/Canal
Ah but the extinguisher is Lurking.

Re: Alcohol/Canal
I think its a matter of perspective, I have observed it rotating, yet you have seen it as lurking.
I think the thing in my favour is I have submitted proof of both of my obsevations. |

What I can say with certainty is that when enough turbulence occurs the extinguisher will continue its journey, the most pressing question is which way will it go this time, its present trajectory was heading for the bridge on Blackburn Road yet it stalled with yards to go, as my photo proves. Only persistent observations will determine this, and you can sleep easy knowing that a dedicated team have undertaken this task on your behalf.................have to go the nurse has come to put me on the commode. |
