I am to a certain extent looking forward to a few frosty days when I have a bit more time than at present. I mentally have a few ideas for frosty shots. I think that is how the photographers mind works, waiting for the frost, waiting for the snow, waiting for the spring, or is it just me. You will have to save up all the photos until you are able to post them. |
Re: Today in pictures
You are right - I'm waiting for a clear, cold day when you can see snow on the Alps in the distance from here - hopefully will make for some great shots - probably need to start early to catch the best light and finally treat myself to the promised new camera! It's raining now so the air will be much clearer tomorrow if it dries up. Have just been through my latest pics and have re-sized them so can hopefully manage to post some - a couple of attempts at fungi -not in your league Dave but I did struggle to get back up after taking them with my gammy knee so I hope they are good enough -just as well no-one was around. The locals are all very friendly and there seem to be lots of regular walkers, Hunters, mushroom pickers and leisurely cyclists around -I'm sure they are all wondering what I'm taking photos of :D

A walk along the Morbasco waterway in the opposite direction to before -all these photos are taken on the new farm's land. The white feathers mark the spot where one of this year's young heron was fishing - can't get close enough to photograph them -lovely pure white plummage. The white spire in the first pic is Ossolaro seen just outside the farm the other village is Castlenuovo del Zappa -can hear the bells ringing from there. From around the farm you can see 5 different church towers...The shrooms are a homage to DaveMac - not in his league - yet :D The brown sign in the last pic is on the corner of the lane and is the name of the farm where I now live.

Re: Today in pictures
Nice pics Mobertol, looking forward to the snowy alps pics, but I think you resized these ones too small. I aim for about 500KB-1MB with either gimp or M$ office picture manager, then let the forum software resize to whatever it wants.
What do others do regarding resizing, software used etc.? |
Re: Today in pictures
mine I resize to 1024 x 768 ... if landscape and portrait its 768 x 1024

Having trouble with my internet provider unfortunately - had a fraught call today as they say they haven't received a fax I've now sent twice, with a good outcomez, from the post-office. Went ballistic and they are now going to pull out all the stops or I'll be changing provider...how did we ever manage without internet in the deep, dark past :D |

Di your new surroundings look lovely and you have nothing to worry about with your fungi shots. I'm sure Dave would say the same. Keep up the good work! |
Re: Today in pictures
I think you are right Dave about a photographers mind....you can 'see' in your head the shot you want...sometimes it works out and sometimes it falls short.
I am waiting to see a line of Royal Mail post vans on the car park opposite Old and Bargain.....I have an idea in my head...if it turns out then I will post it.....but as yet I haven't seen enough vans lined up. Dianne, your new surroundings look absolutely beautiful....I'm envious. Dave, as always, your pics are top notch. |
