Today in Pictures, a walk along Clayton Fields, someone had pulled down all the "footpath closed" signs so I marched through regardless.

1. Starting along the canal.
2. Along the Clayton Fields.
3. Its a sharp but clear day.
4. Same direction just a bit further down.
5. This is the reason for the footpath closure.
6. Almost clear blue skies.
7. The frost is persisting in the shadows.
8. The Pine trees on the far hill are the ones that lead down to Dean Clough.
9. Something you would expect to rub cream on, frozen droplets.
10. Possibly and old style, or part of a stone fence.

9. All this is required to boil the kettle.
10. Just going up the steps when I found this pipe that long ago ceased to function.

My goodness Dave we are getting posh... when we first knew you it was a cuppa tea, now it's a cappuccino instead of a brew!! Glad your taste in biccies hasn't changed!

They had them on offer at £1 a box so I got 10, so I will be posh for a few weeks yet, but its always a fig newton or a Garibaldi for me, unless I am dunking and then it has to be a custard cream, now thats posh.

I have just had another week at Byng House 5 star hotel at Southport, a free holiday provided by the British Legion for military veterans.

No. 1 & 2, Southport at night taken through my hotel room window about four hundred yards away right on the promenade.
No.3,4 & 5. St Helens Glass museum.
No. 6.7.8 & 9, statues in the museum. Not sure what the men in number 8 are up to.
No.10 Old mangle and dolly tubs.

Been there, seen that, done it! :D We were up there this Summer Gremlin, Southpot as a matter of course as we stop at my Dads (in Maghull) so a 20 minute run. And as to Pilkys Glass, it was the second choice because the NW transport Museum was closed when we went to visit. :o (Okay, late Sept & mid week so I can't really expect to much) :)

I trust you enjoyed it .

My mum and dad went there a good few years back .

I also know others who have been .

They all gave it their fullest praise .

I am glad it's still going .

Not only still going but it had been totally refurbished.
It's my third visit and I can't wait to be invited again.
If I was allowed to pay to go I would willingly do so.
All they ask for in return for all the hospitality, food, entertainment and a good rest with people of similar ages is a donation if you can afford to.
All the groups start and finish on Wednesday for either one or two weeks so within a few days everybody is getting to know each other.

Re: Today in pictures

Yes, I heard that as well Frank.
The museum is totally independent and not connected to the works.
