My one and only visit to Formby was a couple of hours in 2008 during a week's holiday in Southport, shortly after we moved to Morecambe. We spent more time at Crosby admiring the statues on the beach and most of the holiday we spent in Liverpool as my other half, being a southerner, had not been there before. I spent quite a lot of time in the city when I was a student in Preston way back in the Middle Ages.

It's nice on the beach and sand dunes. Max can run till his hearts content, then sleep all the way home when he will want to go out again.

Aye, that's the Badger. :)

BTW was the tackle shop a little place next to a Spar shop just off the northern end of the prom? If so it's just round the corner from our house!

Can't really remember, as my observer (Marion) wasn't ! So I had to try & drive - locate - assess parking all at once. It's was Gerrys on Parliament st off Regent rd. And to keep the old baggage happy we did the touristy bit too, round the market, along the Beach with an Ice cream & some retail therapy (Couldn't really say no when I'd just given out 300 notes on Fishing gear now could I). :)

Anyways, while I'm on this thread & talking about that somewhat tarnished jewel that is Morecambe, some piccys. :)

Cormorant figure on prom - Beach looking South - Witchy one, looking for ingredients from the bumper book of spells - Roundabout & figures - Close up of the figures.

Used to take ours (Hounds) out that way when I lived in England, also down to Delamere Forest. Not been there for over 27 years or so, so I couldn't say whether or not you can still let the Hound have free reign, but it was allowed way back when & the Muttleys enjoyed it. :)

Today in Pictures is a very short posting today, due to shopping.

1. Started the short walk and it started with a barge.
2. The next three shots are of the same insect, which was all along the canal towpath on the wall side.
3. they were on Thistles and Nettles when I saw them.
4. And it is Grypocoris Stysi, the Mirid Bug, I bet that impressed your socks off. Dont be, I looked it up.

No that's the other end of town from us - but glad to hear you let Marion have her bit of retail therapy too - not forgetting the ice cream!

Very smart looking bugs who obviously don't mind getting their feet pricked and stung!

At the time I didn't have my reading glasses with me, so wasn't sure just what they were, I thought initially they were spiders, bit of a shock when I got them on the computer.

I just love that Tigger - reminds me of a cat we had years ago - his back legs were so fluffy, from the back it looked like he was wearing furry plus fours or jodhpurs!
