Thanks Margaret, another 10 minutes and there was a lovely fiery sky, but my belly kept reminding me I hadn`t had tea yet. http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/hungry/hungry-2.gif

Just a few tonight.

1. A try at a stars pic.
2&3. More bugs.
4. This just caught my eye, so took it`s pic.
5. Anyone know what bird this is, couldn`t get close enough for a decent pic.

I think some pats on the back are deserved to someone (don`t know who though), it`s not that long ago this river was known as the river stink, now look what we have. A half mile (guessing that) of river that if other areas knew we had would have them green with envy. Kingfishers all down that stretch, wagtails, herons, buzzards (not sure if everyone would welcome them) and now dippers. A bit further up there are also sand martins. This has now become my favourite walk, and it`s 15 minutes walk away.

Yes, you are right. We have an area which is rich in bird life.....and I sometimes think we do not appreciate the full value of this......it takes some stunning pictures to make us realise what is on our doorstep......it is only about five minutes walk for me.

I believe Egrets have also been seen down there, but it`s not just birds, if you go early enough you`d be unlucky not to bump into a deer.
When did this area get cleaned up and by who?

How to combat boredom.
Fill a sink with water, add a drop of red cordial, pull the plug out and watch the water run down the hole.

I won't have to wait much longer for the white coated men to come for me.

Before they do can any of you expert flower power photographers tell me what the plant is.
My late wife had it given two years ago and I keep it well watered on the window bottom, cutting bits off it as it gets too big. It's about two feet high now. No one who calls has a clue or how to look after it for the best.
