Maybe you have already wined and dined that's why your picture was sideways.

You're so right, Gremlin (tee hee!)

In the garden, messing about creating a still-life of sorts. Don't worry, I'm on my desktop mac, and no vino was consumed (yet!)

About 8 years ago, I had about $200,000 of medical work ... 6 hours surgery ... a week in the ICU ... more time than I liked in hospital ... and home care. In my opinion, that's good value for my tax dollars. I realize that in Canada, we pay more for gas, smokes, and booze than they do in the US ... but most of us get old; and old means "sick." I think it's worth it.

But I do believe that conserving what's left of an area's natural beauty is important ... for the environment and for the soul. It must be especially difficult in countries like the UK, with a limited amount of space. We are lucky here that we don't have that problem.:D I checked out a list of Canadian National Parks ... amazing places. And I hadn't realized that Wood Buffalo National Park is bigger than Switzerland:eek:

Yes T they're quite pretty in their own right . the garden greens seemed full of flys this morning (probably due to next door not having chance to clean their dogs mess).
I was going to go for a detailed fly compilation but I got distracted by the strawberry ;)

Another selection from yesterday's market in Cremona.

I just posted all my market pics on my FB page in an album and remembered this local saying in my husband's dialect "Pavese" the dialect of Pavia.

"Dù dòn e un co d'ail e el mercat l'é fai!"
Two women and a head of garlic, what have you got - a market!

We went for a walk today to Watergrove reservoir, a place we haven't visited for at least nine years. Pictures 1 to 6 are of the wall around the reservoir. The stones wer taken from the buildings that had been flooded to make the reservoir. Pics 7 and 8 are general views. Pic 9 is a memorial to a young lad who lost his life swimming in the reservoir. No 10 is a close up of the poem that his mother penned to remind others of the dangers of swimming in reservoirs

That's a market I would love to root around! The charming historical setting is a bonus. Lucky you, Diane :)
