just a couple of the out-takes, if you want to get the same sensation as you view these pictures as I did, rub some tripe on your face as you look.

On to Verona which wasn't today but last Sunday.
1 & 10 Castelvecchio - what a difference 5 hours makes - much nicer in the light of dusk.
2 Not what they tell you is Juliet's balcony - this is much prettier!
3 Clocks on the tower of the castle
4 Statue to motor-bike champion of the 50's from Verona
5 Statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II - on 'is 'orse, with is 'awk in 'is 'and...
6 Opera props stored outside the Arena
7 Nuns in the Arena giftshop
8 The Arena
9 Frescoe opposite from the Arena - would have been modern art when painted

You are right about the pictures 1&10....definitely more alluring burnished by the fading sun.
Your pictures give us a real taste of culture and life.......it has been very grey here today so the blue skies and vibrant colours are most welcome.

I'm sure she would have apreciated the photo Dave and the fact that you thought of her when you took it :) It would go nicely in the 'anything with legs comp'

I love number 6.

Interesting and varied selection. Is that cactus a bit cheeky (especially viewed as a thumbnail) or is it just me?:D

Some more photos taken last weekend 1-6 are in Verona again, of San Zeno Maggiore and the cloisters, where I went to see my god-daughter Ana sing with Westholme choir (she's the blonde girl just behind the bassoon!) The others are from Castel Arquato - view of the hills , man risking drinking the fountain water (not a good idea probably), unusual Fresco in the 12th C church of the last supper - they are seated at a round table and Jesus has a templar cross in his halo, the font is thought to be 7th century and remains from an earier church on the site which was destroyed in an earthquake.

Thanks, I think of her every time I see a picture of that structure as we had a few comments about it between us. I already have my competition folder ready for uploading, looks like I will have to delete one and put one in, I must admit it never crossed my mind that it fitted into the "anything with legs" competition, you can have some karma for that, and a like.

ps. just tried to give you the karma, I have to spread it around first.

Re: Today in pictures

I emailed a few photos to Suzie of the same structure a few years ago and some of the area around her house, and I think I posted them on her at one time.
I can't post one in this competition now seeing as it had been suggested and Dave may want to post his but it was a good suggestion Dianne.
