Brilliant photos of the butterflies Dave -glad to see you got the common blue with its wings open at last.

Its not been a good year for butterflies so I was a bit chuffed to see a blue one that didn't buzz off when I approached. I have to get close as I only have a 4x zoom.

Thanks Dave, wasn`t sure what it was, but after a bit of digging after you`d pointed me in the right direction, it`s a female Lesser Kestrel, gorgeous little thing. Also got a Tern with a fish in its mouth, but the sea was a bit choppy and the pic didn`t turn out that clear.

Today in Pictures was a moderately moist mooch around Jackhouse Reservoir and its environs. There appears to be some improvements going on, paths are being put in, I noticed though, as well as the tree choppers, and the camp-fire crowd, there is now a dirt bike/bikes ripping up the area to the rear of the reservoir.

The more you get wet the easier it becomes.

Forget UK standards, here its a totally different ball game. I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if some of those drivers were off duty policemen. Remember, we are way out in the boonies, near the Cambodia border,(a bit like the "Wild west") its a different story when you get into the cities and big towns, there are traffic regs which are enforced rigidly. If you get stopped round here you have to understand that we have the best police force that money CAN buy.

A truly mad way to travel, not only for all those on one bike, but for everyone around them, as "accy" says no 2 is off the scale for health and safety, and who would put a baby in a bucket and hope the handle doesn't fall off.

So much delightfully moist mushiness! Number 8 is like a fairy's grotto - lovely :)

Really interesting - both for the portrayal of a totally different way of life, and the perspective you bring to it. Thanks!

A liberal sprinkling of droplets there - nice delicate feel to the flower and I love the daddy long legs hanging on to that 'shroom in number 6. Nice autumn colours in 10 too.

For a moment there I thought you'd hopped over to Naples! :D

There was a scandal here last month on the news, we were all shocked. A family of 5 on a scooter plus a pram strapped to the back -the father was driving with one hand as he was smoking and they were all without crash helmets. Someone filmed it as they passed through the center of Naples...

That photo beats it hands down - incredible! Amazing how they could stay balanced with 9 on board. The child in the bucket really takes the biscuit...
Crazy.
