A mixed bag from walks a few days back - we've been kept in by driving rain since. Final shot is of a fresh-water crayfish which came acorss behind my recycling bins yesterday where it was feeding on worms that had come out with the heavy rains. He was quite an agressive creature and gave me a bit of a fright!

Off to Cremona shortly, on a wet and wild afternoon, where this exhibition of photography is showing at the Violin Museum. Looks like there will be some great photos - all B&W -photojournalism - a bit of photo-culture!

I think the Crayfish has to fall into the "I wasn't expecting that" category

Today in Pictures is almost every photo from the same spot, well almost.

1. Its difficult to find a different way to photograph a spot you have traversed so many times before.
2. Its just the Autumn colours that make the difference.
3. The edge of the woodlands that run along the edge of Wilson's Playing Field.
4. Pilkington Bridge.
5. All that remains of Doctor Lovelace floating soap factory, its not the factory that floated, it was the soap.
6. With that, just around the bend and home, today is the BIG SHOP day. I'm so excited I may just run.

Was planning to post yesterday's rainy pics around Cremona taken when I went to see the excellent photography exhibition at the museum. Todays pics are better and quite unexpected, I donned my wellies and risked my life to bring them to you ;):D.
All the heavy rain recently has battered the North of Italy causing widespread flooding. Bit of respite today but more heavy rain is on it's way so we are on alert. We are quite lucky here as we are just far enough away from The Po but our local river, The Morbasco, just up the lane has burst it's banks so my usual walk will be off the cards for a while as you will see!

Number 8 shows the old bridge behind the farm completely submerged.

Beautiful shots Dianne. Looking at them it's almost easy to forget the potential devastation of flooding. Stay safe :)

That's a very reflective and interesting batch, and not something you will see every day.

It has been bucketing down for days but last night's rain was particularly intense. The North of Italy has been really hammered - many rivers have flooded and there have been some deaths as a result :(

We are luckily on the protected side of this small river but it has caused some havoc in Cremona with basements flooding in some areas...

Have had a bit of a magic mushroom day :D Spotted some on a verge near home and found loads of different kinds when I went to investigate. I think Dave would have been in his element. One of them is a stinkhorn - very strange, I found the "egg" first and then moving the grass nearby the full fungus revealed itself - impudent thing ;) I have never seen anything quite like it o.O

Today I went to see Donnas Nook (she wouldn`t show me her cranny)
Donna Nook National Nature Reserve | Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust
on the way there I went past RAF Waddington.

1. Surprised how close this is kept to the road.
2. First Seal pup.
3. Keeping cool.
4. Having a cuddle.
5-7. Guessing this one hasn`t been born long, still has part of it`s umbilical cord.
8. With mum.
9. Two mums arguing.
10. Yet another pup.
