Was the pace of life as relaxed as the photos suggest. Interesting location by the way.

Some very atmospheric shots.
I especially like number five...those earthworks look very interesting.......I like seven as well.
That is a great capture.

The locals seemed to enjoy a very laid-back lifestyle - many getting about on foot or on bikes. Not many cars allowed in the walled town though the local buses thundered through during the day and didn't take any prisoners.
I really liked the feel of the place -there were lots of tourists but it still retained a small-town, intimate feel.

Today in Pictures started in a field adjacent to St Mary's Burial Ground, across the field to The Millennium Baby Wood, and back up the main road.

More from around Lucca -the statue is of locaklly-born Puccini. I have done some colour isolation on a couple of photos.

Have tried all fungi season to get a good shot of that fungi, but this year the slugs beat me to it every time.

I love the coluur in them all - number 5 is such a great subject -I've never seen one in the wild - did you notice the little slug crawling up it?

I beg to differ though and say my favourite is number 6 ;):)

I only know of a couple of sites that contain that fungi, but this year slugs have been in abundance, and yes I noticed that one crawling up the stem, they have got to most of the ones I have found this year.
