Re: Today in pictures
Dianne your pictures are delightful, and just what this thread was started for.
It shows a snapshot of your day.....what was going on in your little section of the world. I love them.....they are ordinary, yet extraordinary. A slice of life......I also think they resonate with me because, given the opportunity, they are the visual eavesdropping pictures I would take myself. |

Thanks Margaret :) Here's the next set of ten - more of the same!
1 He couldn't resist walking on the wall, it's quite a way down... 2 Resting a while 3 Easy way round, take a carriage ride. (4.2km round tour on the walls) 4 Ride in a buggy with the family - this way the kids don't moan! 5 Playing dominoes 6 Meeting old friends - top dog in his usual place, usual time. 7 Discussing politics 8 Contemplating the mountains 9 Snap! 10 Student reading group - all their own words. |
Re: Today in pictures
I like your 'more of the same' too.
They are just what I would have liked to have captured. I like to catch shots of people doing what they do, without knowing that the camera is on them. The shots are more real somehow, and have a different feel to those shots where people know they are being photographed. I love 5 and 6......they would both lend themselves to selective colour reduction very nicely......take the colour out of the background and just leave the men in colour.....think it would make for an interesting shot.......but that is just me! |

Piazza del Anfiteatro in Lucca - unique place as it is a perfect oval. The mediaeval buildings sprang up around the remains of the old Roman amphitheatre. Any stone from that was slowly poached away for other buildings leaving the outline of the amphitheatre and the 4 arched entrances into it are where the gladiators used to enter it originally.
