Usually we just get together for tea and coffee for each birthday that comes along throughout the year. Lately we've been moved to do more than that, and actually walk together again - at least until the ice and snow arrive.

It was a chilly, crisp morning, about 3 degrees when we set off, but clear and sunny. Here's a photo diary of our hour long walk.

Great idea - good to get out in the fresh air and do something interesting. Nice photo opportunity too!

A day's shopping around Lucca - some amazing old shop-fronts and a great variety of products to suit all tastes.

Oh Dianne what joy...those pictures are beautiful.
It was a very dismal day yesterday, went dark early.
These winter days make me want to hibernate...but your pictures are full of life and colour.

Today in Pictures, a somewhat elastic collection, starting at St Mary's Burial ground, a bit of road work, a bit of a country lane (same as yesterday but with the sun shining), and ending up at Hagg Lodge. There was a bit of shopping woven into the fabric :camera8:but we all have to suffer for our art.

I have just had a very happy accident.
If you read my blogs you will know that i have been having a major 'flinging' exercise.
I was going through the bottom of my wardrobe......sorting out shoes and boots to give to charity and I was putting the boots in a bag when I dropped one of them and out of the boot fell a memory stick with lots and lots of photo's on it........some of these were lost when my external Hard Drive hit the dust earlier this year........and they were not on disks given to Ma either.
I have just spent a good hour looking through the pics and reminiscing........I should have been doing something more productive.
How the memory stick came to be inside the boot is anybody's guess.

Some of those shops look bigger on the inside than on the outside, I suppose if you have to shop elegant and interesting frontages make it more bearable.

Lovely pics Dave...a great day for being out and about.......I would have loved to be out there snapping away....but other things needed my attention.

Strange things do happen Margaret.
I put some shopping from a supermarket in my car boot, four bags full.
Got home emptied the bags and a USB stick fell out, it had Blackburn College embossed on. No files on it. 1Gb memory.
The bags were packed by the kind lady cashier, brand new.

Yes, I cannot account for how the memory stick would come to be in a pair of boots that I haven't worn for at least 3 winters......or how it came to be there at all...but it was a very welcome find........and I have enjoyed being transported.

Frank, it was.....especially when I was looking at the files and realised that there were pictures there that I had resigned myself to being 'lost'.

Maybe it is the cosmos rewarding me for letting go of lots of books and stuff that has gone off to the charity shop.
I am delighted with my find.
