I'm gutted. He was my most favourite ever ginger player since Billy Bremner.

Re: Former Players!
Tom Bender played for St Albans City against Weston-super-Mare on Saturday. He was on loan to us from Colchester in 2011/12. I wonder how many of us remember that horrendous injury he sustained in a JPT game against Tranmere which had to be abandoned. Severely concussed, he was treated on the pitch for about 30 minutes.
|
Re: Former Players!

Shamefully, the name Bender doesn't ring a bell, perhaps memory of the occasion overtakes other facts. Thanks for letting us know that the young man is still in the game that almost cost his life, at whatever level. |
Re: Former Players!
I was also there, a truly awful injury.
Good to know he's still playing . |
Re: Former Players!
Glad the lads still playing after what was an horrendous injury.
|
Re: Former Players!
Fosu joins Colchester
|
Re: Former Players!
Gutted we have missed out on both Halliday and Fosu.
|
Re: Former Players!
toto sent off again last night at notts county in the trophy of death.
|
Re: Former Players!
Yeah, but a sending off in the efl trophy only applies to that competition so he's made sure he doesn't have to play in their other group games but it won't affect his league ones, well played Toto!

I see Kurtis Guthrie is now at Colchester, scored a couple of goals for them this season, including one against Exeter on Saturday.
|
Re: Former Players!
Windass mentioned in dispatches in glowing terms. He's the future of Glasgow Rangers apparently. A man to build an entire team round etc...
|
Re: Former Players!
I watched him against Celtic at the weekend. He made their goal with a typical surging run, but as Celtic had most of the possession he was typically missing
|
Re: Former Players!
Will Hatfield sent off for Guiseley tonight, bless - he can't have done anything that bad :(
|
Re: Former Players!
Jock Windass mentioned in dispatches today AND Mr.Crooks on the subs bench!

Windass is destined for the top!
By a country mile, the best (most potential) I have seen in a Acci shirt. He may get there quicker than I thought and his dad's prophecy may come true!!! I have seen lads with "express" pace, but he's faster than that !!. He will play premier league,no doubt if he stays injury free, top lad as well |
Re: Former Players!
McCrooks came off the bench for the 'Gers last night.
|
Re: Former Players!
Just seen Jody Banim has been appointed joint manager of Ashton United!

Re: Former Players!
Rangers fans are absolutely crucifying him at the moment. One fan even went so far as to say "looks like a former Accrington Stanley player".
Poor lad. Josh off, Crooks on is a sentiment voiced by some fans. |
Re: Former Players!
There's nowt as fickle as football fans, thought they liked him when he first started playing for 'em?
|
Re: Former Players!
Accymad, take a bow.
Windass has now been subbed and the Rangers fans are rather ****ed off as he now appears to have been one of their better players. Or maybe that's just Twitter for you. |

Bobby Grant, Jimmy Ryan playing for Fleetwood against Southport who have James Caton (was on loan from Blackpool) starting and Tom Daley, I mean James Grey on the bench! |

What's the betting he'll get snapped up by a higher league club & Skem will reap the benefit. |
Re: Former Players!
To be sure i thought he looked very promising the times i watched him play for the young uns, beats the crap outa me. though i could make a guess and get blasted fer it pmsl.
|
Re: Former Players!
If he was scoring in the National League for maybe Southport or someone then I would question the departure of Hazeldine.
I can't say the same about the NPL or whatever it's called nowadays. Is Luke Wall also on loan there??? |
Re: Former Players!
Have to say thats one departure i question.
|
Re: Former Players!
He looked unreal against Colne last pre season (the only time I've seen him play) but Coley 9 times out of 10 gets it right on releasing players!
Who's gone on to do better that Coley has released? Just off the top of my head I can only think of Alan Navarro who played for Brighton! |
Re: Former Players!
[QUOTE=smudgie;1180973]If he was scoring in the National League for maybe Southport or someone then I would question the departure of Hazeldine.
to be honest how long can the club realistically keep players just in the hope they will make it at our level. carver and dawber come to mind and they seem to have found their level in the conference north. if their are not going to make it move em out and try new youngsters in their place. sounds harsh but you,ve got to realise not all the youngsters make it here or anywhere else for that matter. |
Re: Former Players!
I think "Dedication" is the main reason ?
|
Re: Former Players!
Should Bastien Hery be included in this thread?
Does anyone know why he never seems to appear in any team or on the bench yet is still listed on the Fishy site as a squad player? Très étrange, mes amies? |
Re: Former Players!
Also Rory Mckeown ??? Where have they both gone??
|
Re: Former Players!
rory mckeowen has defo gone as his squad number belongs to Gary Taylor Fletcher

He was our version of Sean McConville now, always booed off his own fans and very lightweight and pushed off the ball too easy! Had to drop down into conference and even lower to Drolysden and Hyde! Fair play to him though getting back up! |
Re: Former Players!
Shaun Whalley could always run, trouble was when he was at Stanley he didn't know when to stop & do something with the ball, he wasn't the finished article & maybe we didn't have the luxury of time to wait till he was, good luck to the lad
