and with lower gates than we get. about time something is done about non league football with these inflated wages paid by a very small number of clubs. |

I see Podge has continued his record of scoring in every round of the fa cup this season, only a consolation goal today against Man City but still impressive - well done Podge

Anyone got any news about Phil Edwards?
Last known at Bury FC. Has he retired? Phil was superb for Stanley! |
Re: Former Players!
Still at Bury for now I presume, would be a decent pick up for a freebie, plenty of League 1 experience under his belt too.

About time that revolving door started moving in the opposite direction.
Squad is threadbare. |
Re: Former Players!
Stanley rarely have a squad at the start of August and certainly not by the end of June!
|
Re: Former Players!
And rarely have they had to assemble a squad to compete in League One. Everybody doing business very early.
|
Re: Former Players!
Arrgh
We've so many lads signed up I've lost count; minus the loanees; which by their nature arrive late most of our regular starting XI are "in the building" Dimi Callum Reagan ( Southport's player of the season) Ross Yozzer Seamus Clicker Sam Billy New Guy from Bolton Joe P Seani Subs Harvey Toby Oz Plus 5 PL loaness Suggest we all look at Bury and Bolton's forums ;) |

If you think that squad is good enough .... add in injuries and suspensions .....
think you are jumping the gun a bit as we,re not in july yet. if we are in the same position though at the end of july then i,d agree with you. think if coley did pick a starting 11 out of what we have at the moment then stanley would struggle. |
Re: Former Players!
Its bound to take a bit of time ! what we can pay and what type of bloke aint in the majority any fool knows that.

Re: Former Players!
Adam Buxton has just signed at The Globe.
Is he a decent right back which is what we need after Mills went to Oldham. Edit , just seen the comments on page 78 ! Jim is great at saving players' careers. |
Re: Former Players!
I liked “Rhino” Buxton. He wasn’t the fittest but he seemed to be willing to get stuck in as well as charging forward into the opponents’ half, with smaller challengers bouncing off him. Hope he does well at the Globe.

It was suggested that a lot of his injuries were a result of mardyarsedness.
If he's fit then he's decent enough, but expect to be changing your bzck 4 around frequently. Cant remember his age but dont think hes in the knackers yard yet |

Re: Former Players!
Bucko is never 6 foot!!
As well as Tranmere's ex captain who has just signed for York (Mcnulty) Adam was looking rather "bulky" at Wembley Maybe a summer getting back "trim" will sort them both out?? We'll find out when we visit the Globe on the 27th of August. |
Re: Former Players!
Rhino will eat one of them ...

Re: Former Players!
Bucko is never 6 foot!!
As well as Tranmere's ex captain who has just signed for York (Mcnulty) mcnulty will certainly fill the shirt that jon parkin left last season at york. as for bucko,s height i think plenty of players must wear really long studs when they are measured. |

We have signed John O'Sullivan today on a 2 year deal.
Opinions would be welcome. Thanks. |
Re: Former Players!
yes Red, if he regains the form he should for us on his first loan spell you have a diamond his second stint for us was not up to that same standard, he's still only 25 so every chance to regain that form best of luck with him, and best wishes to big Kev he's been a real diamond for you, good luck for the coming season

Very poor mans McConville |
Re: Former Players!
Thinks he's better than he is constantly sniping at his team mates never rated him sorry.

Re: Former Players!
Got to disagree about O’Sullivan, got all the ability in the world, just lost him way for some reason, unplayable on his day, hope he comes again as there’s not many out and out wingers about
